After sitting here reading the reviews from 2010 to present, I'm not surprised that my money was stolen. Wow Family Dollar, your customer service SUCKS! As I said before, I worked in Customer Service at Sears and my cashiers would NEVER talk or act like yours do. My cashiers worked for the money they were paid and if they didn't like it, they were shown the door. What incintives do you have for your employees? Do you ever go in and praise them? It sounds like you don't properly train or manage them at all. And it's not just one store, it's all of them. Hey, I need a job....I can whip a store into shape in 30 days or less. It doesn't take rocket science.

I was just contacted my my bank stating that someone spent almost $400 at the family dollar in Michigan. I am in Arizona. Tell me, how does one do a transaction without the card?? By using an employee, that's how. I now have to wait 2 weeks for a new card, 3-5 more days for a pin number and 3-5 business days to get my money back! Shame on you Family Dollar. I will not shop at your stores again. Ever heard of a background check? It might just come in handy. At Sears, the Loss Prevention watched their employees more than they did the people shopping there! It keeps people honest.

Store #02109 in Miami Gardens is a complete mess. Its dirty ,smelly, items all over the place and garbage is also in the isles. The employees are always fooling around every time I go in there. Its a horrible shopping experience. I never see the manager at all.

I live in duncan oklahoma and dont think its fair The way single mother of three kids is treated at family dollar dc. my sister has to take days off when her kids get sick but she is sick with pneumonia and they will not let her take off the manger throws her in modes with heavy lefting then yells at her cause she is moving to slow. on top of this all my sister has a heart codition and they dont seem to care the way they treat her is wrong and should be stopped but no body there does anything. if family dollar dc cares about thwir employees then they need to show it

I am always in the local Famiy Dollar store and stop mostly for the convenience of it. I can run in and get quickly after work what I need etc.. and I always laugh at the amount of money I manage to spend in a lower priced store. I will not complain about the way I was ever treated the staff in store 5435 is usually very pleasant. Nor am I the type to write a nasty letter I would rather write a good one for someones benefit, but yesterday put an end to my shopping in the store. There were quite a few young children and seniors in the store and the one male employee who generally makes me uncomfortable to begin with let a such a stream of profanity loudly that it froze me in my tracks. I realize this is a lower class store but that was beyond disgusting. I ended bother my shopping then and in the future, as well as a few of the other customers with children that walked out.

I think its pretty sad that Ive never experienced a family dollar before and with my first experience they rudely talked bad things about us right in front of us. Rude service and doesnt care about customers.

I frequent the locla family dollar store.located on the corner of south park ave and tifft st.in Buffalo NY. It is the absolutey the poorest managed store.in the area. The employees never stock shelves and there are boxes on racks, in carts blocking aisles everyday my wife.or myself go there no matter what day of the week. Just yesterday, I went there to go shopping at around 9:15 am knowing doors open at 8 am, but the doors were locked, there were many disgruntled.customers ouside waiting with me,.and the employees inside, for whom we could see, just ignored us. There is a dollar general.a bit further down the street, and they are now going to receive my buisness. Its stad because another family dollar in the neighborhood was.just redone.and it is.the polar.opposite.of.this store. Fix it or lose.a.customer for life.

A Family Dollar recently opened in the Atascocita Texas area. I have not had an opportunity to take a look until yesterday. I hate to say I could not get out of there fast enough which is a real shame. The parking lot had trash everywhere. I think it is just what had blown in and not left by your personnel, but should be picked up anyway. The clothing was packed in so tight that it looked like people pulled things out to look at but couldn't get it back in. After the first 3 rows, I couldn't proceed any further down the next isle because of all the boxes sitting in the isle to be loaded on the shelves. One isle? No! Almost all of the isles. In the back there were carts after carts full of boxes I assumed were to be put on the shelves. I never saw anyone unpacking boxes as I proceeded back up to the front. Only employees I saw were two women in red jackets at the front of the store behind the counter and neither were helping anyone nor unpacking boxes until they helped me check out. I bought a couple of good deals but probably would have bought much more if I had felt comfortable in accessing the items. Perhaps someone should be in charge of restocking shelves at night or one of the two women up front could have been restocking while the other checked out until such time there was another customer to check out. Hope to see an improvement. Always nice to see new and successful businesses. Good Luck!

I shopped at fmaily dollar, and recieved the absolute worse customer service id ever witnessed, the cashier wore a blank name tag, no one spoke when i walked in& everyone was leaning on the counter looking at me like i wasnt supposed to be there...when iasked the cashier why didnt he speak to he laughed at me as if i was a joke, this has been my worse experience ever and ill never vist that store again...& ill be sure to pass it down...

Family Dollar 700 crescent st brockton ma is mismanaged by weekday store manager. Family Dollar just lost a customer.

I frequently shop @ Family Dollar located in Martin, KY. I visited the store today to purchase a few items and couldn't stay in the store as long as I wanted because of the very cool temperature. I understand that the orders come from your corporate office and I do wish you would order more PEPSI products such as the 8 pack (12 oz. bottles.) Every time I go to purchase the product it is "Sold Out."

we have done work for them and it takes over 1 year to get them to pay invoices i would only do cash only with the stores. never ever let them be billed

Location is Scarsdale Blvd. Houston, TX I shop at this store only during Christmas season to buy gifts. Every year I have experienced the same type of rude and unfriendly customer service. The manager is worst of all, I think she trains her employees in the same manner. I would prefer not to go there at all, but it is the closest one in the area. As long as you buy things it is good, they only want your money but does not want to provide any other service. I have never seen any customer greeted with a smile. They accuse you of things if you return an item even with a receipt. I feel bad for the people who have no choice but to shop there, and endure rude and unpleasant customer service. I called the district general manager, left a message, and have not heard from him yet, I guess he is still on vacation. I want to ask him if he returns my call, how in the world this manager continues working at the store with such a horrible customer service attitude ? !

Today, Tuesday, January 1, 2013 My husband called me to let me know as he was entering the Family Dollar Store location, Euclid,Ohio Store #01998 shown on the receipt, he fail and hit the back of his head and his buttock. My husband told that the sidewalks look like they had not been salted. We are residence of Euclid Hill Villa. He came home not looking well.

Family Dollar is really going down in terms of having professionalism amongst employees. I use to frequent the store on Lindbergh in Hazelwood and there was a black young man who was kind and always greeted customers with a smile. Very helpful. Not sure what happened to him, but there's new staff in this location and they are rude, don't greet you, don't want to help and I've seen them outside the store smoking. Corporate needs to install some hidden cameras to see what is really going on. Needless to say, I rarely go there anymore. I'd rather spend my finances where the people care about their customers and show it.

I was a recent customer that was treated unprofessionally by your staff at a local store in Beloit (#00882), which I found to be upsetting. Your Ast Manager L. was on the phone with her manager complaining about an employee. I suggested to her that she should take the call elsewhere since she was find fault with an employee, instead of bashing her in front of customers. I was then ridiculed and laughed at by her friend that was there. I will no longer shop at this store. I am ashamed to see that a company would hire management that would bash individuals in front of customers and treat customers in this manner. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. PS The Ast Manager was being loud on the phone and every customer could hear her complaints about the employee. Family dollar needs to inform management about confidentality.

Funny, when you call the customer comment or complaint line at the corporate office their mailbox is "full". So since I am unable to actually speak to any representative, I am leaving my experience here. The Family Dollar in Middletown, OH Store#04936 should fire the lady with long blonde hair immediately. There were only two women in the store at all... and when I got to the checkout lane, both were sitting on their asses eating food within sight of all the customers. They looked up at me like I was interrupting their meal, when I was a customer! The blonde lady proceeded to give me attitude and told me basically the price I had seen on an item was wrong and did so with extreme rudeness. This store does not even deserve one star, and I will NEVER shop at a family dollar again. If people don't know how to treat others with respect they certainly shouldn't be in any retail or customer service position! They just lost a paying customer for good.

i went into the store on N 12TH ST Gadsden Al and that store manager is very rude. When you ask for help she gets an attitude and plus i overheard her talking about others customers to customers i will never go back in that store as long as shes there.Rudeness is one thing but talking about customers to customers is just wrong.

I along with others are fed up with the manager at the store in Belleville. She has the worse attitude ever and her LOUD voice will break your eardrum. She need to be replaced. She also never has a kind word and loves to yell at the customers. She threw me out of the store because I asked where the line was. I don't need that..what happened to the customer being right? Thats one thing I was taught when I worked with the public..I will never go to that store again

we visited the family dollar in veedersburg In bought several items marked .75 on the shelf Every item rang up .79 PLUS they charged us sale tax on top of that when we questioned the clerk he said they probably raised the price Is they should have to sell the items for the price marked he said he was busy and have a good night I can imagine how much money the corporation is making on .04 hidden increase I hope every one checks their receipt
