I was working at one of the WA state store a year ago. I felt all managers were bad, not nice and treat other without heart. They didn't respect people (customers or workers) at all. I went shopping with friend last week, and saw one of the manager still treat a customer bad. They were not even smile or say sorry, or say thank you for shop here. If not my friend, I will never ever shop at DSW.

I will be looking into the practices of this store. My son of 16 got hired there. The store manager apparently came from a Childrens Palce Store and wanted to hire the people she worked with there. She fired a few employees and my son over things that was out of the employees control. Like a customer complaining about DSW System not excepting their checks. He really does not need the job, but what about the ones that do? She should be held accountable for this if this is fact. If she has been firing people for small infractions just to hired old friends from the Childrens Place it is not right.

sill havent rercieved shoes since june 20......its now july 11...-______- never again

I've been working at DSW for nine months now and I haven't had any complaints against thus far until I have recently been falsely accused of theft without them showing me any proof of evidence. I've been Put In the position by the head of Loss Prevention to either go along and cooperate with them and pay back the funds or get sued. No one thinks it's in my character to steal but believe management is behind it all and using me as a cover up for themselves. DSW treat their employees like crap!! I won't even continue to shop there anymore !

i feel sorry for the employees at the novi michigan store for how they are spoken to. side note to management....just because you are at the front of the store doesn't mean the customers can't hear you bark at your staff over your headphones. disgusting.

I had great service online today. I called to ask if I was elegible for premier memebership to get free one day shipping which I was not. I needed a shoe for an event, and it wasn't avaibale at my store, the the rep offered me free two day shipping. That was great!

i just bought some tie up rocket dog flats last week and love them however i was walking to the fenton street farmers market/silver spring maryland and i noticed that there was a hole in the seam part of the show where the stitching gave way so i stopped in to dsw (did not have receipt as i was not planning to take them back until then)and told floor person the problem and showed her the shoe on my foot. she asked for the receipt and i told her the story and gave her my reward card as i bought them the week before and spent over $100. she was courteous and gave me a printout of my ourchase and circled the shoe i was returning. i went to find the same shoe but i noticed that they ALL were going to tear at the same place because of the material and stitching (design flaw)so i found a different pair or shoes around the same price but they were heels(i was dressed casually in khaki's). i went to the front to pay the difference and buy some nail polish and was greeted by an unfriendly woman who turned out to be the MANAGER!! she called the helpful floor person up tho the front to chew her out in front of me for not telling her about me first then she gruffly rang up the new purchase, told me what i owed and asked me where the torn shoes i was returning were. i told them they were on my feet and showed her the mangled pair and she asked if i was going to wear the high heels.i told her "no" and she said that i had to give her the shoes on my feet(at this point she could hardly keep from smiling as she thought it was hysterical that i would have to leave the store barefoot). i (57 years old) bent over, took the shoes off my feet (everyone was watching and shaking their head at her)and put the torn shoes on the counter and stood there in my bare feet waiting for the receipt. i asked her if she was going to take the other (same) shoes off the shelf as there all were going to tear in the same place and she said "no." her first name was brenda and last name began with an "L", just HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE.i left barefoot.

Dsw in Lawrenceville is ok but te store manager is EVIL..She always talking behind someones,back always,get,her mgrs to tell us what fo do when we know it came from her. She walks in doesnt speak but yells at us about getting stupid rewards. She treats her mgrs like slaves and her staff. I think shes on meds because she has all these mood swings. She yells at the staff all day and I never see her help one customer

I went to purchase a couple of pairs of shoes at your Boston, MA location. Because I didn't want to use my credit card, I asked if I could write a check for the $97. The sales person said this would not be a problem. She asked for a MA license and I gave her my ID. I've done this before at other businesses. However, when she went to finish the transaction, the computer said to call for authorization. She called some 1-800 number, gave them the information on my check. My check was then DECLINED even though there were sufficient funds in the account to cover the amount. I have never bounced a check ! I was not given a reason or a code as to why the check was declined. So, I paid with my credit card. Which did clear. The sales person apologized and suggested I check with my bank. Which I did promptly. The bank said all my previous checks were all fine. They did not understand why my check had been declined. I refuse to call this Certgy company and give them my information because now I'm worried that they ARE trying to scam people out of their information. This is ridiculous !

I have purchased many a pair of shoes at DSW shoe stores but have yet to be treated the way a customer should be treated.I called on the phone the other day and the employee was very brass and unpleasent to talk with and called me some funky name. They carry the shoe I wanted because I was in the other store the day before the call. I know they have the shoe because the other store looked the availability online and that store came up. I worked retail for many years and the customer service I received was horrible. Also, the phone system was horrible you could hardly understand her. Thank you for your time......

WORDS COULD NEVER EXPLAIN THE UNPROFESSIONAL MANAGERS @ THE DSW IN KING PRUSSIA, PA. THE AMOUNT OF WORK REQUIRED INCLUDING SCRUBBING TOILETS IS RIDICULOUS CONSIDERING THE AMOUNT YOU ARE PAID AN HOUR. THE DISTRICT MANAGER IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AS WELL BECAUSE SHE DOES NOT RETURN PHONE CALLS. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO WORK HERE. THE SELECTION THERE IS LIMITED WHEN IT COMES TO NICE SHOES, THEY SELL A LOT OF CRAP FOR HIGH PRICES.

i am no longer an employee at DSW as of yesterday. With my grandfathers passing last week i was mark off for calling in for my grandpas showing and funeral. I do not think that is right that they can do that. Also I have had many problems with the managers and employees that I worked with their. One of the managers that treated me like crap, anything that i would do i got in trouble for but others doing the same thing didnt. i dont even think that i want to even shop there anymore because the motto Americas Favorite Place to Shop is flase. I worked there for 8 months and i only like it for the first two and that is because i found out how fake everyone that works there is i will make sure to call corporate myself on monday and complain about managers that i had. if anyone ever would come up to me an ask if i think they should work there i would tell them no unless you want to be treated like your a slave.

On the other hand, I love working here. I've been an associate for about a year and worked in two different locations in two different states. My managers are awesome and we are really like a family there. The District Manager is also very friendly. She's in and out of our store all the time. We go out of our way to make sure all the customers that enter our store leave happy. It is rare that one of our customers leaves angry. I would say, at least the DSW's that I have worked at are well on their way to making DSW America's Favorite Place for Shoes

I love DSW, but it really concerns me to see that they throw so much paper and plastic in the trash. They don't recycle, bc I asked the employee if they have a special recycling program and he said no. I can't stand that DSW doesn't recycle. It is irresponsible with so much paper, cardboard, plastic that they handle. So much can be done with all that material. I don't wish to continue shopping here knowing that DSW does not recycle, and I really hope this changes.

I went in the Buckhead store in Atlanta Georgia. I was pleased with the selection but the customer service was horrible. A floor worker an older white lady, slim, with dark brown hair followed me like I was trying to steal she never even offered assistance. She tried to put my items back twice. Thats when I had to say something. She complained about cleaning up after customers. It was horrible. I purchased 154.00 in shoes but I may have purchased more. I won't ever go there again. DSW needs to train their employees better on controlling shrink. I hope every African American girl in a jogging suit isn't treated like I was. I'm so pissed I might just return what I purchased.

Since when has it become a coporate policy that people can't wrk one day a week the last time I looked up part time meant 0 to 31.5 hours emphasis on zero u need to get ur Maryland DM under control her mouth lies and actions are going to cause u a lawsuit. I didn't know that if u were a DM u made coporate policy.

DSW treats their customers like royalty and their employees like slaves! It is the ABSOLUTE WORST PLACE TO WORK!!! I worked in the Atlanta area and the district manager there is a liar with mean and unusual intentions. I was told I would be promoted but I was repeatedly over looked by because of my skin color. All because DSW wanted more "diversity" they would hire "diverse" employees at 5-10 dollars more! If you are not a favorite of the district manager, which pretty much means if you don't look like a supermodel, then you get treated like garbage!

I went to the Brandon store a couple of weeks ago. I was approached numerous times by a worker named Sarah. She made me feel extremely uncomfortable, like I was stealing. I liked some shoes but I ended up not buying them due to that reason. She also stays in your face has no sense of personal space.

I ENCOUNTERED THE NICEST WOMAN AT YOUR STORE IN CONCORD, NC. TWANDA PHILLIPS. I WAS LOOKING FOR A SHOE FOR MY DAUGHTER-IN-LAW AND THE SEARCH SENT ME TO A STORE IN CHARLOTTE, NC. THE MANAGER WAS NOT HELPFUL AT ALL. I WAS RELUCTANT TO CALL THE OTHER STORE I WAS GIVEN, BUT DID SO. SHE WAS SO HELPFUL AND KIND. WENT OUT OF HER WAY TO HELP ME. HATS OFF TO THE NICEST SALESLADY IN NORTH CAROLINA. SHE WILL BRING CUSTOMERS BACK. SHE HAD SUCH A PLEASANT VOICE, WAS HAPPY AND AN EXCELLENT REPRESENTATIVE FOR YOU ALL. THANKS AGAIN FOR HIRING THIS YOUNG LADY TO REPRESENT THIS COMPANY. I WOULD GIVE HER A 10+.

Dsw is America's worst place to work or achieve any kind of goals I was lied to repeatedly by a certain district manager who claimed there were no full time positions in a new store opening only to find out there was and I came recommended by my store manager and a assistant for the position I guess cause I didn't work for victoria secret previously I wasn't qualified to move up the ranks of dsw. That's why ur new store has so much unprocessed freight ppl say it's hard to shop and other managers comment that there r idiots who don't know what their doing running the store it's called karma u got what u deserved. Btw u need to discuss dress code with ur DM's wearing a shirt dress that comes way above the knee and no leggings in a store opening is not appropriate attire or professional at all.
