Hostile Work Environment/Poor Mgmnt

I work for store 795 and it is a very hostile environment. Due to health issues I will be forced to turn in my 30 day notice to quit. My current Sales Per Hour is over $239 and raise goal is at $251. It's an absurd number in my estimation. Fellow sales associates steal your sales and the gossip is ridiculous. The store management will promote others merely because they're female. Have a look around the store and you will find that the female Area Store Managers outnumber the men by about 13-1. Sales associates are the same with a ratio of about 4-1.

dillards 335 got new SBM at lingerie dept.Shes from cosmetics and promoted as SBM. She is on probation for attendance.Why the stupid Store Manager promoted her even she is on probation? There are associates who are qualified to be SBM! PLs corporate check Dillards 335! this is soooooo wrong!The Store Manager there is a moron.He will promote you if he likes you..doesnt care if you are qualified or not! a lot of the good associates are quitting because of his stupidity.

Dillards 335 store manager is terrible

The way store manager treat employees is ridiculous! I want him to get fired! the ASM's are a-hole. they are uneducated..they curse a lot on the floor!

Careless and unemotional

I worked for Dillard's for 3 months as a full time employee starting in October through January. Working during December I only received 3 days off that month and lost previous time with my family for the holiday. I was tardy one day and never called in sick. As I'm a great employee I thought that after the hard work I would get pat on my back. But once again corporate slaps me in the face. On January 9th I found out of a major surgery I needed due to cervical cancer. January 10th I notified my manager. She seemed very concerned and willing to help me in any way. Again I was wrong! January 12 I started my shift at 9:45am. After out morning meeting my manager told me to reorganize the stock room which had no air and only one light but I did what she asked of me. At 5 pm and hour before my shift ended I was called to office at which time I was told I was no longer needed to gather my stuff and please leave. So I don't think that Dillard's understands what they do to people. I hope that all of the Dillard's management at the store in Spanish fort Alabama can sleep well with the knowledge of taking someone else health and well being in your hands. And there is only one star because this site requires it. I would not even give a half star

SALES CLERKS

Do the Dillards have a dress code? I was not only shocked, but sickened by a female staff behind the cosmetic counter in the Grand Island NE store that had visable tattoes, piercings, dressed in open toed shoes, casual clothing & a very bad complexion. Employees reflect your Company. Her personality matched her looks. I will do my shopping at Yonkers.

Current employee

Fashion Place Dillards in Utah is horrible. Management is uneducated and non carring. They are writing us up and terminating us for not having credit apps. All other stores have a rule of one a month... Oh no!!! We need one a week or they tell us we are not following the rules. They are terminating employees that have been there for years. Dillards corporate needs to look into all the terminations. Come on we work there because we like the customers. GE Credit can open accounts and sell Dillards cards. Let us sell and build relationships. Keep your $2.00 per application.

unfair managment

I was employed by dillards 726 in laredo,tx im complaining for unfair treatment by the current store managers kurt n jeson i worked for dillards 726 for 10 yrs part time since this two managers were given the store, the store had loose close to 30 employees for any reason, or they'll find a reason. Corporate should investigate why so many employees are loosing their jobs, under this managers im sure many employees were let go unjustly.

purchased a dress for inagurial ball, I did not get to go to the ball, I tried to take the dress back today and they decline stating because it was past 3 days. There was no way for me to get the dress back in 3 days because I was out of town. No one was willing to work with me and refuse to have the CEO contact me. I am going to file a complaint to my local BBB to see if they can assists me in any way. Horrible service

Crazy Manager

I worked for Dillards in NM and I was accused of stealing. It was a crazy story that started out with the mens deptartment manager. She was relentless to make up stories and push management to fire me. This has happened many times, says my coworker at the time. Not only is it this manager but it is many managers, I spoke to three other girls in one day and they all said they were accused at one point. However during the same time I was a student with at least $4,000.00 in scholorships and I had another job as an assistant manager, and I needed money to steal? Not only was I discussed with this manager but then she comes over to my work and starts rumors about me. I could forget about the whole situation but that manager was crazy.

Used product put back out to sell, unhappy employees, uneducated upper management, unclean store.

Gentlemen Dillard'sused to have a great and easy site where the customer could see every item in detail like Macy's, Nordstrom etc. I live in Greece now for the last 2 1/2 years and last year visiting the States I purchased on intimate wear alone over $400 plus leather handbags, cashmere sweaters etc. I try to get to your site now to place an order, and it's impossible to navigate all this labyrinth you have created. Very disappointed I must say. Anything you could do to improve your site and make it the way it used to be...? Thank you!

Not rehirable

I worked for Dillards 3 years ago,i was there for a year when I was laid off,i was doing very well till my daughter got pregnant,and was very sick,and developed ecmplamia and almost died,so i missed alot of work ,Dillards treated me like I was nothing and let me go because my sales,i would have made it up but never gave me a chance,now they have me as not rehirable because of that I cant get a good job,i lost out of a good managers job.

3-day returns

The three day return policy for sale items is a joke. In this economy people are trying very hard to cut corners and save money wherever they can. So, I shopped early and bought quite a bit of merchandise for my daughters birthday during an extra 40% off sale. Well guess what? By the time her birthday arrived and she had to try on the items, she couldn't fit most of the items and I was out of money. This also happened when I was on my way out of town and you all had another extra 40% off sale and because I went to a location without a Dillards when I returned I couldn't return the items, but was rushing the day of my of my trip and was unable to try the items on. Please stop being so greedy and unreasonable with your return policy. I like this store but not the policies. Customers are always on the losing side when it comes to returns and you have a lot of loyal shoppers that patronize you. Don't penalize the majority of honest, loyal and middle income shoppers trying their best to save where they can. Don't you care about us or is it just about profits? Why should you care if people sell the stuff they bought at a sale on ebay? You cannot control what they do whether it was a three day sale or 30-day sale. Stop it and show us some respect by eliminating this stupid policy.

Very hurt

My family has been shopping at Dillard's since before I was born and not only that but you can look in my closet and see that everything has been bought from Dillard's and my entire family drops thousands of dollars there a year and I went with my mom and grandparents to the Greenville, SC one on Haywood road and we arrive at 9:40 when it was suppose to open at 10 and found it already open! Now I knew it was opening at 10am because it was online and a phone call put in asking AND the newspaper and they say they opened early due to being afraid of a riot outside because people were banging on the windows??? If you are that afraid you should of bad the police outside handling the situation NOT letting angry people into a store that was not suppose to be open nor did they have enough cash registers open. I believe this was very disrespectful to your TRUE everyday costumes and really want something done NOW! You are about to loose several customers if this happens again...aka not the first time it has happened!!!

USED Ladies Formals Regular Priced!

We visited Dillard's Baybrook Mall in Houston, Tx and were looking for Ladies Formal Evening Gowns. We found several and as my daughter was trying them on we noticed on the first 3 that they were used and returned in filthy condition and Dillard's was selling them at regular price and the usual 40% off some....the one dress had food stains all down the front and was regalar prices at $298.00. I immediately showed the clerk, whom was rude and other customers were standing there were shocked as well. The clerk just said well it's marked 40% off (BUT it is used and even resale shops do not sale dirty used torn items!). The other dress had tears at the footing where it was obvious they walked from a parking lots and danced all night in...very dissappointed!

False advertising!!!!

Coconut Point Dillard's in Estero, FL advertised online and through all employees called by multiple people that their stores would open at 9am. There are hundreds of people outside this store and from what I hear at other stores waiting. Customer service blames the store manager and the store manager blames corporate. Neither one care! They say oh well wait another hour!

Mean Managers in Aurora Mall

One manager was so mean, she paced, faster and faster while I was talking with a sales clerk in the fine jewelry department. She even closed in to listen to our conversation. NO one was waiting in line, nor in the department nor returning items on 26 Dec 2012. The store was basically EMPTY. Why this manager behaved this way is beyond me and it needs to stop. Last year, in the bath/housewares dept, similar behavior. NO one was in the store, it's empty, I was basically the ONLY customer and chatted with an employee. This is how you allow managers to be? This is outrageous. I'm making this known to you , though you have very nice merchandise, this is WRONG. Oh, it happened at the Broomfield store, too, exchanging an item, that was being held for different size and get this , the price increased over night by a few cents, YOU can BET I DID NOT pay the difference. Shame on Dillards for managers behavior, customers notice and we will NOT BUY from you. YOu can keep all your fancy merchandise. You need to learn how to treat people with kindness. What's the matter with you?

USED SOLD AS NEW

Dillard's In Albuquerque at Cottonwood Mall sells used, returned shoes as new & at full price. The Ass't Store Mngr. acknowledged that this was that particular Dillard's store practice.

I recently purchased a pair of spanxs at Dillards Tyrone Mall in St.Petersburg, Fla. When I got home and went to take them out of the packaging I realized that they had already been opened and tried on. I got up early the next morning to take them back and exchange them. The girl behind the counter gave me a hard time, telling me that it was normal for the seams to be stretched and exposed, and that there are no returns on Spanks. I said to her.. that I was not trying to return the item that I wanted to exchange them. I worked for Dillards for 3 years at another mall I am well aware of the policies. I also informed her that I have purchased several pairs of spanxs over time for different events and never have I got a pair with seams stretched out and exposed. So after several min. of going back and fourth she agrees to exchange. As I had a wedding to go to I hurried out the door. I got home everything worked great. Until I got my bank statement today and realized that she NEVER returned the item that she was supposed to be exchanging.. she instead rand me up TWICE for the item in which I had already paid for the day before.. so now I have been charged 3x for one pair of Spanx.. She told me that she needed to put the item on a gift card because the register doesnt allow exchanges on spanx, so I was charged the amount on the gift card and then she needed to swipe my card to get the first charge off.. I am beside myself right now.. and of course I don;t have the receipt anymore.. I had assumed that everything was good after I wore the spanx. however what I do have is my bank statement and I do hope that someone can help me resolve this matter.

I am appauled at the numerous visits to the Topeka Ks Dillads store located at WestRidge Mall at what I witnessed today. I have shoped at this store for over 15 years have spent many paychecks and the amount I have spent at this store in the last 15 years would equal amount to very nice realesate property. Now to what I seen. I watched as a manger degraded his employees and 3 of them in tears because they were not reaching their sales goals for the day. I lingered in the back ground just to listen and I was not the only customer within earshot of this nor the onlyone disappointed by the lack of professionlism this manager displayed. After listening for over 5 min of his degrading remarks to these women I kindly asked him his name after being refused by him and the manager rudley walking away I asked one of the associates his name after handing her a tissue. Jord Blackburn was her response and she stated it wont do any good to file a complaint that several employees have already quit due to the way he talks to them and when employees have attempted to file a complaint they have made scheduling and working conditions unbearable that employees just quit. Heartbeaking and disappointing. Even more upsetting is this is someones child being spoken to in a manner that regaurdless of your position in the company does not deserve to be humiliated not only in front of customers but fellow employees as well.Now with that being said I feel this should be looked into sooner than later. Rather then spending my month shopping at Dillards it is my personal goal to educate your Dillards employees about the sexual harrasment laws that are in the state of Kansas with my husband being an attorney and Im sure like the average joe blow stuggling to make ends meet to provide for their families do not have the means to pay for an attorney for such matters educate these emploees of their rights to be able to go to work without the fear of such harassment to add to their daily struggles.Shaking my head in dissapointment that these are the kind of management you have representing your company. I could only imagine how hard it is for your emploees to provide excellent customer service to your your customers when working in such conditions. When reality is it is not the management that makes your store the money it generates it is the employee that generate the profit for your buisness and noone should have to work under these conditions.
