i purchase a trophy 126 kayak made by future baech. this kayak is not produced correctly, it is missing the watertight bulkhead in the rear. my wife was out on the lake last weekend when she discovered her $1OOO camera was sitting in pool of water.i talked to a rep. at the rochester,ny store ,which i felt was a waste of time.the store rep. didnt seem like he care either way,and didnt have any way of resolving this problem.we cant seem to get through to future beach, their emails dont seem to be working or they are being ignored.i would like to have some ansewers concerning this issue.i think it would be better if my friends, family, and any one i can tell to shop else where if customer service is what they are looking for.they are not going to find it at dicks.

MY WIFE AND I WERE OUT SHOPPING FOR A HOME GYM,WE STOP INTO DICKS.THEY HAD A NICE ONE,MY WIFE AND I WENT TO SEARS IN THE SAME MALL.WELL SEARS HAD A NICE ONE TOO. THE ONLY DIFFERENT WAS THE ONE SEARS HAD A LAT PULL DOWN BAR THAT CAME WITH IT FOR THE SAME PRICE THAT DICKS WAS SELLING. I SPOKE WITH THE MANAGER TO SEE IF THEY WOULD THROW IN THE LAT PULL DOWN BAR,I TOLD HIM IF HE WOULD I WOULD BUY HIS HOME GYM. MIND YOU THIS BAR MIGHT BE $40.00 THAT SEARS WAS OFFERING WITH THEIR HOME GYM. THE MANAGER POINT BLANK SAID NO,I SAID OKAY I WILL BUY THE ONE FROM SEARS. WE WENT TO SEARS AND ORDER OUR HOME GYM,AFTER A FEW DAYS OF WAITING WE WENT TO SEARS CHECK TO SEE ABOUT OUR HOME GYM. THEIR WERE A MIX UP WITH THE HOME GYM I WANTED. INSTEAD OF MAKING ME WAIT FOR A FEW MORE WEEKS,THEY UPGRADED TO A LOT BETTER HOME GYM FOR PRETTY MUCH THE SAME PRICE AS THE ONE I ORDER,WITH A TWO YEAR WARRANTY. SEARS DROP OVER $200.00 TO MAKE ME HAPPY,PLUS THEY BROUGHT IT TO MY HOME BUT DICKS COULDN'T ADD A $40.00 BAR TO MAKE A SALE. THANK YOU DICKS,I SEE HOW MUCH YOU VALUE YOUR CUSTOMER. YOU SHOULD TAKE NOTES FROM SEARS IN CUSTOMER SERVICE. THIS TOOK PLACE IN WALDORF,MD.

I can't speak for other stores but Store #99 is very well staffed. I deal primarily in the guns and fishing department. Jim Luciano is the main salesman. He spends a good bit of time with each client. He recommends products without overselling. He takes the time to help with product instruction and assembly. If you're having difficulties at other stores, you might want to shop at Plymouth Meeting, PA. Great service, great staff.

"Funny Thing Happened On My Way To The Forum" I stop by Dicks, how apropos to look at some Kayaks. Excited to find a place where I can go in piece and quiet and feeling good about myself for doing some service in the community work. I stop by the sport good store in Richmond Va., go I believe the store opened at 9a, I arrived at about 10:30a. I enjoy browsing and/or shopping when stores are empty. I find the kayaks and begin texting my lady, whom introduced kayaking to me in NYC's Rockaway Park Beach...great place to do many things by the ocean. Anyway, I'm texting her and taking photos of some of the different kayaks. I want to buy for she and I, so I send her the images and hadn't really been thinking anything but positive soul connecting thoughts when I realized a man whom I really didn't pay much attention to after we greeted each other, began to follow me around the store, at first it seemed innocent enough, we both happened to be looking at some of the same things. Until I realized he worked in the store and was following me around the store as though I was on "Americas Most Wanted". I couldn't believe it and my mind had never gone to that dark, sad, tragic, lonely, ugly, vile, need I say more place. I mean I don't wear hoodies, baggy clothing, baseball caps, do-rags or whatever they are called, boots in the spring/summer, didn't have a radio blasting, gun or knife, five (5) baby momma's with ten (10) kids each, calling me "daddy" behind me. So now I'm trying to figure out, "what about me is worth following" yeah, I'm ok looking, I dress like a mature 46 year old, former Airborne Ranger, honorably discharged, wearing my favorite, white collard button down shirt, with cargo pants and flip flops...literally my favorite business/casual artist looking mature proud grandfather of twins in two (2) months to be...Ah, maybe that's it! I should not look so proud and happy. Obviously this person was so used to the awful profiles, my youthful, spirited, soulful bounce had to be a trick, masking a more menacing energy waiting to pounce the moment he turned away...I would immediately steal everything in sight and lash the items in the pouch only large enough to hold my IPad, while having wallet and cell phone in the other hand I would tip out the door without being noted. Yes, I know, I must be a product of a vivid imagination. This has never happened to me! Yes, I do have a very vivid and crystal imagination and yet it took little to none to live inside of that appalling moment. My imagination also took me on a research journey into Dick's executive branch as you were to the list of Executives who will be none too happy to read what I just wrote. Such notables as; Edward W. Stack Chairman and Chief Ex Officer William j. Colombo Vice chairman of the board Timothy E. Kill an Executive V.P. Finance, admin... Joseph R. Oliver Senior V.P. Debbie Victorelli Vice President of Field Human Resources Any and all feel free to respond. Enlightenment is always welcomed! Enchant, KI

Last week I ordered a lacrosse helmet and I when to go and track it and i was going to tampa bay florida and i live in massahusett and they treated me on the phone poorly never ordering from them again

Buyer Beware!!!!!!!!! Purchased a pair of cleats for my son for the football season. They did not have them in stock after walking around the store to find someone to help us. So they had to be ordered on line and shipped to us. After about 15 minutes of the sales person's time trying to put the information in the computer I was ready to pay with cash. He then tells me he can't take cash at this station. And tells me to buy a Dick's card for the amount and to use that, so I did. The cleats came and they where the wrong kind. Called the 877 to get the order fixed. I was told that I would have to pay for them again and then I would get a Dick's gift card back when I sent the wrong one's back. Ok I can get that??? But then they tell me I can't get my CASH back for the first pair with a gift card. I would have to spend it in the store. I told them I paid with cash I want cash back! I didn't pay with a Dick's card they told me I had to. Then called There Corporate headquarters guess what no one answers. I am not the kind of person to let things go. So if you see this story on the news in Gastonia, n.c. it's me. Will NEVER!!!! spend another dime in that store again. You can get the same things from Sports Authorty much cheaper my mistake for walking in there store in the first place.

MY WIFE AND I WENT TO DICKS TO PRICE A HOME GYM EQUIPMENT,THE ONE THEY HAD ON DISPLAY WAS 299.99. MY WIFE AND I THEN WENT TO SEARS TO PRICE THEIR,THEY HAD ONE THE SAME PRICE,WITH ONE MORE ATTACHMENT THEN THE DICKS HAD. I SPOKE TO THE MANAGER TO SEE IF THEY WOULD LET US HAVE THE SAME ATTACHMENT AS SEARS WAS OFFERING. WE WERE TOLD NO HE COULD NOT DO THAT. THE MANAGER TRY TO TELL US THEIR PRODUCT WAS BETTER,I ASK HIM IF THAT WAS THE CASE,WHY DOES BOTH EQUIPMENT HAS THE SAME WARRANTY. IF ANYONE KNOWS ABOUT EQUIPMENT,THEN YOU KNOW (WEIDER) HAS A PRETTY GOOD PRODUCT. THE THING THAT GETS ME IS,THE ATTACHMENT WAS ABOUT 30.00. SO YOU RATHER LOSE A SALE FOR 300.00 THEN TO GIVE A 30.00 ATTACHMENT. I HAVE MADE PURCHASE FROM DICKS IN THE PAST AND THAT IS WHERE IT WILL STAY. I WILL TAKE MY MONEY ELSE WHERE.

I drove past Academy Sporting Goods today, to go across town to the Dicks Sporting goods in the Augusta, Georgia Mall. I wanted to purchase a fishing real that was over $100.00 and it was in the glass case. I waited for over 20 minutes, and had at least three employees walk past me and didn't acknowledge me. I went to the front of the store, and caught a manager that was coming onto her shift. She was pleasant, but the damage had been done. I drove back to Acadamy and purchased over $200.00 of product. I could not believe the clerks were so unfriendly and could not have cared less if I was there, or purchased anything. At the time I was waiting at the fishing/Guns glass case, there were at least 5 other customers that "gave up" and went away. Who is the manager of this store? Does he or she know what is hapening? I could have made a lot of sales if I had been working there. Corportate needs to know why their sales are off.

I hate to do this but here goes. I work at DSG. I Usually enjoy my job. It does not pay very well. I work hard because that is what I have done my whole life. Over the last year I have never been late to work or missed a day. I have not received a single customer complaint in a year. Yesterday out of the blue comes this scathing complaint that was sent to "The Corporate Office". We did not offer the service that the Custer wanted. I explained this and looked up a place on the Internet that she could get this service, gave her the address directions and phone number. She writes all this crazy stuff about me. Well for $8.50 an hour I think I am done. They can hire some 18 year old that sits in the back stock texting their whole shift and see how their customers enjoy that level of service. I treated her disrespectfully. What a load of crap.

I purchased a new set of Callaway Irons on 06-12-12. We were told we would receive them in 3 to 5 days. After 10 days and no clubs, we called the store and they said they would look into it. I had to call two more times to get them to talk to me with what happened, whicj they had no clue about. I have since gotten the store managers involved, still with no answers whatsoever. They have e-mailed and left messages at the corporate offices several times and cannot get a return call or e-mail. What kind of disfunctional corporation are you running? I spend a ton on money at Dicks on a yearly basis and my question is, why should I purchase something at your store when I can order it on line for less money, and actually get a response when there is a problem. Prediction......Dicks Sporting Goods, the next retailer to go out of business!

just spent 20 minutes at the gun department, until i than had to walk into the back of house and talk to the manager to get someone to help me fill a co2 container (for paintball)ended up they could not fill it. NEVER going back to dicks

Tried to return a pair of flip flops because they were causing me pain in lower back. Chiro told me there is not enough support in these shoes. Dick's would not do anything. Shoe manager stated "They can't resell them so they cannot refund my money." Would not listen to a word a said. He was probably 18 years old and thought he knew everything. Where is the customer service. Certainly not a Dick's. It will be a LONG time before I think of going to a Dick's store.

Extremely poor service at the Daytona Beach store. I ordered two dri-tees and was told the shirts would be within several days. Well, several days have come and gone, no shirts. Spoke with the store manager who said, "We don't have any control over when an order will be shipped." I asked why I was specifically told my order would be in withing 3-4 days. The store manager said, "I don't know. Have a "nice day"." I would have liked a more correct estimate of shipping time. The tees were for my summer vactions in the next week, appears my order will take 12 days. It would have been nice to know. But apparently I'm just another cog to Dick's. So I will not shop at Dicks Sporting Goods. And may they too have their "nice day".

Bought a bike from Dick's Sporting Goods at the Westland Mall in Sylvania OH. Also bought the service plan with it. Dropped it off on a Thursday before the nicest weekend of the year, hoping to get it back on Friday. When asked when it would be done, indeed I would have it by Friday and the weekend, great! They stated they would call me though when it was done. Friday came and went, as did Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. I've just got off the phone with this particular Dick's, and during a 14 minute phonecall it was picked up by 8 different people at different times, all whom I had to explain I was looking for my bike I dropped off Thursday and reiterate my name and story. It has not been resolved, as I was cutt off of the phone call before anyone gave me an answer. There were no major repairs necessary, this was for the spring servicing! Basically checking the bike and making sure everything was ok. I have no idea what's happened to my bike and when if ever I will get it back now. I'm afraid to call them back, everyone I talked to seemed to have no idea what was going on and I am going to explode if I have to explain why I am on hold to one more person. That being said, I can't believe after patiently waiting on hold and explaining so many times nicely, the system there or someone's negligence cut off my call. The kicker is they have my name and phone number and yet nobody cared enough to call me back. My next step is to drive there in person, but I am very dissatisfied with this customer service!

Several weeks ago we went shopping at Dick's Sporting Goods in Madison, Wisconsin. We had a lengthy list of things that we needed for an upcoming trip and hoped to purchase some if not all of them at Dick's. Customer service was dismal-most of the staff was congregated in the back room laughing and talking. When one of the staff finally helped me, they brought me the wrong shoe in the wrong size and then disappeared. The staff memeber in the camping department also disappeared when we asked questions he couldn't answer. The only helpful staff member was the greeter at the door and we wasted 45 minutes in your store and purchased nothing. We then went down the road to REI and spent over $1000.00-some of that could have been yours had your customer service not be so poor. Incidently the staff at REI is knowledgeable and helpful-your people could certainly take a lesson from them.

My wife and I have been shopping at Dick's for years until a new Academy Sports was built right down the street. Between our three kids and ourselves it equates to over a thousand dollars a year in all the gear. One of our three kids is on a swim team and broke her goggles. My wife stopped by Dick's to get another pair for her although she knew she'd be overpaying for them. She brought the goggles home never opened them. Upon inspection of the goggles there was a sticker for a suggested retail price of $9.99. She paid $12.99 for them. I returned them to Dick's, with no problems what so ever, after I bought the same exact pair at Academy for $7.99. The poor sales clerk was shocked when I showed her the MSRP and the receipt from Academy.I also found my exact running shirt I pad $27.99 at Academy on the Dick's Clearance rack for $32.00. Sorry Dick's I don't mind paying a few cents more even up to a dollar but when your $5.00 - $10.00 off virtually everything I price checked, you wont be in Rock Hill, SC for long.

I was in the Eugene Oregon store today. The cashier Angela was great, friendly big smile. A manager named Joe Potter, took the only pen that was available to her, that she needed to do her job. He then went on to say, she was a thief. That she had stoled the pen from the back room and walked away with 3 pens leaving the cashier unable to do her job, and me unable to sign for my Visa purchase. As he walked away he did not stop talking down to this poor cashier, and continued to call her names.. I will not be shopping here again.

We are writing on behalf of the Dicks Sporting Goods store located in Jackson, TN. The staff personnel were great. Specifically, Lance, a clerk in your "fishing department" was extremely pleasant, helpful and very kind. However, we are writing in regards to the air conditioning, or lack thereof. While we did shop and make a purchase in your store, we hurried our visit (and perhaps additional purchases) because of the uncomfortable heat in the store. We felt so badly for the associates working for you. They had to be as uncomfortable and hot as we were. My husband had a tanktop on and the sweat was still apparent. We are writing in hopes that the "Corporate Office" will allow for adequate air conditioning in the store. We did hear other complaints about the heat throughout the store. Thank you.

Can I just say, as an associate at Dick's, I try my best to greet every customer I pass or that enter my department. With the cuts in payroll I feel that the pressures put on associates are mind blowing. More times than not I will be the only associate covering my department for the day, now I am expected to unpack freight, restock the shelves according to plan ( which occasionally requires resetting an area when product arrives on the truck), meet and greet customers and qualify them for their purchases, push warranties, scorecards and credit card, and follow up with telling them about the survey at the bottom of the receipt. After I am about finished with the customer I now have to make sure I tell them to check the "completely satisfied" box on that survey and to mention my name. Now that I have spent some time with this customer, someone else is on the phone calling for an answer to a question or to see if I have something in stock. Oh no, now my manager needs me to stop what I am doing and straighten up an aisle or display that has been shopped and is now empty... God forbid a customer comes in with technical questions and I need to spend some time with that customer in order to provide them with knowledge or product for their successful adventure. WE are too understaffed!!! Frustrations are being tunneled to the associates and they are the ones feeling the brunt of a corporate lack of concern. Let me just say that I think payroll should be spent on putting associates on the floor for the customers NOT to be used to do the overnight cleanup for a week in preparation for a corporate bigwig visit! Yes, I could work somewhere else but I truly Love what I do I get personal satisfaction when I can share my experiences with someone starting out and see the excitement that I so remember years ago. Customers deserve more that inept associates that haven't got a clue on what they are doing, experience is something you need not just a warm body to throw on the floor to push low quality merchandise at premium dollar. As this frustrated associate all I can say is HELP! And appologize for customers I have had to cut short due to a phone call or other demands made of me while I was attempting to help you!

I just left Dick's Madison, Ms to purchase some qolf equipment and supplies. I requested so cost information and was told I someone would be paged to assist me. I waited for 20 minutes and watched 3 employees behind the service counter do nothing but laugh and joke. This is the worst customer service store I have ever been in. I know that me not going to shop at Dick's anymore will have no affect to this large corporation, but I will post on Face Book for 3150 friends to share with all thier friends, and who knows. I chose to give them 1 star, but that is only because there are no zeros or negitive stars to choose from.
