Store personnel finds my phone, which was laying next to me and takes it to customer service. Customer service then just gives it to a guy who comes up and says it is his girlfriends. They did not once turn on phone to check and see if it was in fact his, nor did they have him call the phone to confirm it was his. This was an iPhone and the store is taking no responsibility at all and I am out a phone and now have to pay for a new one. While I was standing at customer service another woman came up to claim her phone and they asked her to call her phone to claim. She was an adult and I was a teenager. Why was she handled differently???????? Very disappointed in Dicks. They were not helpful, did not feel remorse for just giving the phone away, NOTHING!! My phone was in their possession, their responsibility, and they just gave it away.

I recently went to the Brockton, Mass location to purchase a pair of special gloves. The ones I wanted were not available in my size @ that store. A young man, Tim, who was the manager took the time and found what I wanted at another location. I was not familiar with that town (Plymouth, Mass.) so he got a printout for me to follow the GPS directions. All this while another worker, his subordinate, stood eating his submarine sandwich after previously being rude.

This "Tim" young man is the type of employee our fathers and grandfathers would hire. I know I would. If you shop around the southshore of Boston for sporting goods, go to this kid for your needs. If he doesn't have the answer, he's the type that will get it.

The Dick's Sporting Goods Store in Anderson, SC is the worst store I have ever shopped at. NOBODY knows what they are doing. Associates are rude and disrespectful and are very ignorant about the products they are trying to sell. I think Grady's in Anderson, SC will be a better choice for my family and friends.

Your shoe department customer service is poor. I have gone in there no less than 8 times each time the salesperson just stands there never ask if I need help. If there is more than one they will both stand there talking about their party last night.I will never buy anything from Dick's probably because I won't be able to.Other shoe stores greet you minute you walk in. I went tu Dicks because of a sale on Nike football cleats. I stood and waited for 15 minutes with a shoe at hand. Finally somebody helped me. Another 10 minutes and I find out my size isn't in stock. I'm a 10 or 10 and a half. Very common. How can you have a sale but no sizes available. I mentioned to the sales guy that the sale is why I came and I guess I have to drive to another store. I feel there is no way you guys couldn't help get what I want. How disappointing.

I purchased a Livestrong Eliptical and when the store mgr said free delivery we gladly accepted. After several days went by and no call from the delivery we called the store in Fredericksburg, VA. (spotsylvania town center) the mgr stated he had no control over the delivery! So my husband then got the number and called and found they had no delivery for us. So again we call back to the store to have them fix it. Then 5th man calls and says it will be at least a week before we can schedule delivery. So my husband says OK and then proceeds to just go pick it up himself. When he goes into pick it up and tells the cashier she writes his name on piece of register tape and says ok go ahead to the back and pick it up. He had them load in his car and they never had him sign anything. Then they call us 3 days latter and say we have a delivery for you! I wanted to show them of their incomptence and poor service, so I accepted the delivery, waited a couple days to even see if they would notice! Of course not! As I am a honest person I did call the store and tell them and they said well how did that happen? So I explained to them of their mistakes and poor delivery system and cashier. So he says ok we will come get it and I said I think you offer some gift card or something? He calls my husband and says I can't offer you anything but we will come get it. Long story short they have their machine and I got nothing for being honest and giving them a $900 dollar machine back! So much for honesty and respect! Not to mention I had corporate customer service talk to me and pretty much tell me it was me not being honest cause I should of never let them deliver it that I was the one not HONEST.. I do believe they have a expensive machine back in their inventory that they would not of had if I didn't let them know of their mistake.... VERY RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

I purchased a treadmill from Dick's in March. It took a month to get it delivered and then it did not work. They have been ordering a part from the date of delivery which has not been done nor is the machine working. So, I have a brand new treadmill that never worked and now they tell me in order to return it I have to contact the manufacturer (which I will do).

I do not recommend purchasing anything from Dick's.

PURCHASED A F80 SOLE TREAD MILL FROM DICKS ,WESTLAND,MI ON 4/20 12 AND WAS DELIVERED 4/23-THAT'S OK. HOWEVER THERE WERE SEVERAL CRACKED PARTS ON TREAD MILL WHICH, AFTER MOVED TO BASEMENT, I AGREED TO HAVE PARTS SHIPPED AND REPAIR MADE.
EVEN THOUGH EVERYTHING WAS CHECKED OUT MILL WAS WAY OFF BALANCE AND I COULD NOT USE.
CALLED 6TH MAN TO CHECK ON PARTS AND FIX BALANCE.SAID WAIT UNTIL PARTS COM?
IN THE INTERIM,I CALLED MANUFACTURER-SOLE.THEY WERE POLITE AND KNOWLEDGEABLE.ALSO THEY LET ME KNOW NO PARTS HAVE BEEN ORDER BY 6TH MAN.SOLE WILL SEND PARTS,INSTALL AND FIX PRODUCT-I HOPE.

Dicks sporting goods is run by a corporate office, if you have an issue buying something or returning something or you are angry because there are not enough workers, or stuff is out of stock, or not labeled right, or an item is broken, or are denied buying a fire arm, etc....... DO NOT GET ANGRY AT STORE EMPLOYEES OR MANAGERS!!! They are FORCED to follow policies by the CORPORATE OFFICE and they have no control over ANY of the issues I listed! Eugene store used to be GI JOES great staff bought a bike in the bike department great salesman I think hes name was matt he had a apron on..Joe the sales manager on the other hand was a jerk, I overheard the sales manager numerous times talking about someone that he thought was stealing products from the store. The person he thought was my 9 year old son, my son is a great kid, he kept talking over the radio to other employees to watch my son, I spent thousands of dollars in that store and will never shop there again, I feel bad for the great employees that do work there..

Dick's Sporting Goods customer service is non-existent. I purchased a Precor treadmill on March 18 and it is now April 3rd and I am still waiting. 6th Man is the worst delivery service I have ever had to contend with. I have spent numerous uncompensated hours trying to have the treadmill delivered. The customer servie at 6th Man is rude, uncooperative and incomptent... 6th Man and Dick's Sporting Goods refused to accept responsibilityfor their actions and falsehoods. Bothe companies do not care about customer service. Today I spoke with Darly, Jonathan and Jean at Dick's corporate office. None of them will give you a last name or a direct line. Their response is we have thousands of customers and deliveries and this rarely happens. Maybe they should read the negative reviews of 6th Man and Dick's Sporting Goodss. Jean is rude, condescending and brags about working at Dick's in customer resolution for 24 years and the thousands of customers that Dick's has. Jonathan and Jean's resolution was for me to pay for another delivery company. Now let me get this straight. I buy a treadmill from Dick's with a free delivery promtion. But because their "independent cobntractor" cannot deliver the treadmill in an efficent and competent manner, then I should be penalized for their incompetence so they can do this to another customer. When I asked to speak with a vice-president, I was informed that vice-president's do not speak to customers. I guess a customer is a trivial manner to them. Jean and Jonathan were very prompt in telling me they had hundreds of stores and thousands of customers, so obviously they do not need my business or money. Not once did Jean or Jonathan offer a viable solution. My concerns have not been addressed. Companies need to learn that we are the reason they have a bottom line and it is not acceptable to lie, be incomptent and refuse to take responsibility for your actions. I will ensure that my family, friends and clients shop elsewhere for their exercise equipment and sports needs. I will continue to pursue this matter for my concerns to be addreseed in an acceptable and professional manner. Jean says I will never get a written response from Dick's, but due to my pressure, I have just received a phone call that the treadmill is being delivered tonight. Now let's work on that letter.

A new Dicks Sporting store has opened in Albuquerque. I have had experience with many sporting stores but unfortunately this is the only sports store, I know, with staff that are not familiar with their merchandise or simply answer the affirmative to get you to come to their store hoping you will purchase something else. I called ahead of time to see if they had the 2-lb Empower Cardiocore Fitness hoop (that is advertized in their web site) and I was told "certainly" that it was at their new store. I drove across town to find out that I had been deceived. After today, I am sticking with the other more knowledgible sports stores that I have had excellent service with. I realize that my family boycotting Dick's is not going to hurt their business, but we feel better knowing that we told others.

I am so glad someone told me about this site.
I was at a Dick's in Plymouth, MA. a few weeks ago, and had the most courteous and polite young gentleman help me select some cleats for my daughter. He was tremendously busy, I know it is his job to service the customers, but he went out of his way to make sure we got what we wanted. He was a tall handsome boy with a thin beard, I wish I had gotten his name so I could mention it here. Next time we need sports gear for the kids we will take the long ride to Dick's in Plymouth, and hopefully he is working to help us again.

I think your store are great and even applied for a job at your Fayetteville, Georgia location. I was told by one of your managers that they would not hire me because I didn't answer one question correctly on your assessment test for one of the two areas I applied for in the store. The question was wither I was willing to offer customers the opportunity to get a credit card or a Dicks customer card. I accidentally said no and on another I said yes. The locale manager told the lodge manager they would not consider me because I answered the one question incorrectly. I talked with your HR internet people and attempted to correct the area and the gentleman told me he saw no reason not to hire me and said he would call me back and never returned the call. I then called the lodge manager back and he said he would get back to me. I called him today 02/06/12 and he said the store manager would not consider me because of the error on that one question. I personally believe it was more about my age then about my ability or the one question that wasn't answered correctly. It seems to me that Dicks Sporting Goods is only interested in young people and don't care to hire senior citizens. I made attempts to talk with Dicks HR department about policy, but was not able to get thru to a person.

I had made a complaint against a customer service representative's service and inappropriate treatment, and I submitted feedback. I was told that this rep "had never received any other complaints and that I should consider shopping in a different store." Wow...terrible response.

Dick's Sporting Goods have wonderful stores. Large, great selection of just about anything one would like to purchase. With that said, customer service from Corporate, once they have your sale, is poor.

I ordered two AZ Diamondback jerseys as Christmas gifts. One was for an Upton Jersey. At the time of order, I was told it would be shipped by mid-January. As of the 20th of Jan., because I had heard nothing on this order, I called Customer Service at 1-877-846-9997.

I asked if this order would still be filled given the time that has passed. My feeling was that Dick's must be having vendor problems with this order and because it was a gift I needed to know if this order would ever be filled.

The customer service person, looked up my order, and said that absolutely it would be filled and I should receive a notice that it was shipped early this week.

Today, I receive a note that my order had been cancelled. Many apologies.

My frustration and anger is with the communication problems Dick must have with vendors regarding orders which in turn impact customers.

It was bad information given to me. SOmeone at Corporate, who genuinely cares about customer satisfaction, should visit re-policies and procedures as to how customer follow-up on orders is done, to avoid errors like this one.

I was actually told that I could not buy a product on display because it had already been scanned for inventory that would be done two days later. This is sad that they are so antiquated that they can't sell products for 48 hours so they can count. I actually work in a grocery store that can scan in tens of thousands of products for inventory in one night while we are closed. Dick's tapes off display items with masking tape and refuses to sell them during prime weekend shopping times. You will be seeing them run into the same fate as the equally poorly ran Circuit City soon. SELL YOUR STOCK.

It does not matter which Dick's I have gone into lately, especially in South Carolina, but the customer service is very poor. No one seems to know what they are doing, nor what has knowledge about the products they carry, including management. Then when you go to the register to pay for the items you select, you never know what your price is going to be. That is especially true even when an associate helps you and tells you what the price will be before the cashier gets it and rings it up. If feels like you are shopping at a garage sale or flea market. I ordered and prepaid for an item 5 days before black Friday and was promised that certain item would be ther to pick up anytime that Friday. When I went to get it, they had sold it and told me another one would be in the next week. That kept up for a month until I insisted that someone actually track down my ordered item and get me a date I could count on. When I asked for the manager and found out that was the person I had dealt with several times already, it was no shock that they did not know what they were doing, nor took any extra steps to assist in resolving the mess they created themself. However, like a fool, I went back recently after the holidays thinking perhaps the holidays made their customer service care poor. It was not the holidays. The same people are just as lousy in the customer service skills as they were before and during the holidays. When you experience their lack of people skills and inabilities in solving simple problems, and in addition then have to do their jobs for them, you will see how they should chose non-retail employment as their life instead of doing what they do now. Try to reach a district manager lately? Those phone numbers have no voice mail, and just ring forever. Then the stores they work out of can't take messages, and their is no email to correspond. Do you believe Dick's is interested in solving problems they create or are a part of when it comes to customer service? Not anymore. It is just easier to shop at Academy or another sporting goods store where people look forward to greeting and helping you out. When a company no longer knows how to treat people properly as customers, nor take the time to know them and the products in their store, it's time to go and give your limited business to another who eagerly desires your business. Do yourseld a favor...save the hastle and go somewhere else to shop.

I have been fighting with customer service for almost 2 months.. i ordered 2 pair of Crocs on Nov 25th (buy one get one free advertisement in the local paper and online).. We recieved 1 pair ontime as stated in the email.. It is now Jan 17.. 5 phone calls and 5 emails later and still no shoes.. I called and talked to a Supervisor (Rose) of customer service yesterday... she said she would look into this personally and call me back today.. it is now 8:26pm and no return call from Rose... it's one excuse after another.. error in the system, order is still being processed, error with manufacturer, and the infamous "i'm really not sure what happened". At one point I was told my shoes would be delivered no later than Jan 8, when i called back customer service said "I don't know why they told you that"
When and if I finally get this resolved I will do anything and everything so my friends and family never shop at this store local or online again! Yes.. I am highly ticked off!

Hi. I am from Pittsburgh, Dick's headquarter's, and every Dick's store I go into has 1 or 2 lines open for checkout. Never more than 2. However, 5 employee's will be standing around watching the lines grow. When I ask if one of them could open another register, they tell me that they are not trained to use the register. I actually returned my $3oo.00 worth of tennis equipment back to the shelf and walked out. If this is the case, why aren't more employee's trained on the register? I have witnessed this 2 line system at S.Hills village, Washington, PA., Century 3 mall, and Robinson... 2 min from DICK's Corp office! Pitiful. Always a bad experience checking out.

False advertisement and misleading customer service
December 20th - I ordered four items from Dick's Sporting goods with guaranteed Christmas delivery by 12/23.
December 21st - three items were shipped. I went back to the website to make sure the fourth item was eligible for the guaranteed shipping. It was and I made a copy of the page that said it was. I then called to ask about the fourth item. The woman I spoke to checked and said it was in stock and eligible for the promotion. She said she was going to notify someone to make sure it was shipped immediately, and if I didn't receive it on-time to call back.
December 23rd - I received the three items, but not the fourth.
December 27th - I received the fourth item. I called Dick's Sporting Goods again. They said they had to look into this and would get back to me
January 7th - I received an email stating "the order did not meet the guidelines to qualify for the Guaranteed to
Get There Promotion"
So, not only was the website false advertising, the customer service representative that I spoke to was misleading!
I will not shop at Dick's Sporting Goods again!

My experience with DSG has been superior to any other outdoor recreational store. Far out waying in price and customer service both Cabella's and Gander and Joe's. I'm from MN and I can tell you that on rifles and shotguns they are $100 lower consistantly on price and I have never had service that works with me as good as they do. I (to a fault) hardly ever take the time to right positive remarks but it is time. The only con I can say is sometimes they do not specialize in products like the other stores--REI (also good store), Cabella's (love the store, HATE the service and it is pricey in comparision), etc... I'll sum up my experience:
Dicks has quality to high quality products priced in a range from fair to below average with service that is anywhere from good to exceptional= individuals going out of their way to make sure you are happy. I can't say that any other store I shop at encompasses all of the latter. Thank You. I am a forever loyal customer.

I was In the Ocala FL store yesterday to purchase a total gym. The person that worked in that area seemed to be upset that he had to come over and discuss the product with me. I asked him to show me how to adjust the machine and how to fold it up for storage. Seems he couldn't be bothered to actually show me, all he did was verbally confirm it would adjust and fold. There were a couple of small attachments in the way and he didn't want to bend over and move them so the machine could be folded. I was there to spend some money and "he couldn't be bothered". His whole manner toward me was rude. Needless to say they lost a sale. It was $100 cheaper online thru Amazon anyway.

Very upset. Placed two online orders on 12/9 and both orders were "lost" in shipping. I'm confused how that can happen and that to reorder the products will take 1 week or processing, 2-3 weeks in the warehouse and then 1 week of shipping. And this is my problem. The customer service is terrible. The reps won't even look into where my products are?!

I would not recommend shopping online with them any longer.

I would like express my displeasurable shopping experience with Dick’s Sporting Goods. On December 16, 2011 I purchased a LIVESTRONG 10.0E Elliptical ITEM NUMBER: 4307978 from the Governor Plaza 6633 Ritchie Highway
Glen Burnie, MD 21060 location during a special promotion that offered free delivery. I paid for the Elliptical to be installed at my home. I was really looking forward to presenting it as a Christmas gift. I was told by the Dick’s Sporting Goods associate that I would be contacted in three (3) days to schedule the delivery time. I was finally contacted by an automated message from the Sixth Man Group on the 21 December. The automated message stated that I was scheduled for Friday, 23 Dec between 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm. That was cutting it close and I called the Sixth man group to see if I could get it delivered and installed before that time and was told no that was soonest time before Christmas. On Friday the Sixth man group associates came around 3:00 p.m.. I asked if they could fit the item through the front door or will they need to come through the basement. The Sixth Man associate then asked why and is the elliptical not here? I said no you guys were supposed to bring it. The Sixth Man associate said they only had installation on their paper work. I immediately called Dick’s Sporting Goods. The first time I called I got hung up on and the second time I spoke to an associate. The Dick’s Sporting Goods associate spoke with the Sixth Man associate. The Sixth Man associate said that no one was in their office to change the paper work and any other deliveries will be after Christmas. I explained that I was only off on Monday and if I could get it redelivered then. The Dick’s Sporting Goods associate said that he will try and would call the Sixth Man first thing in the morning. The Sixth Man automated customer service line then called me asking me to express my satisfaction with th

I wish I would of found this web site before placing my order !!! On CyberMonday I ordered a trampoline on-line from Dick's. Could have ordered it from Amazon for the same price, but I thought I would give a local company the business - Mistake #1!
Received an email on 12/7 that it had shipped UPS w/ a tracking # - tried for a couple of days to track the package w no luck. I called customer service who told me that b'cause of weight it had shipped freight - I should have w/in 7 days. Followed up a week later, was told by a manager that it could take up to 14 days but no problem its on its way.. Called 12/19 and these morons have no idea where my item is! As far as there concerned it comes from a third party supplier and they have no control SORRY !!! They sell this crap on their website and don't stand by it !! What kind of idiotic company is this !! I will NEVER buy anything from this company again!!
Worst part is it's my 10 yo daughters only gift to open this xmas other than clothes!

Wow is all I can say about Dick's customer service especially after looking at the other reviews! Went to Dicks to get a Northface osito jacket and the lady at my store the first time wad helpful she called other stores nearby by to have one transferred and they said they would, that was a week and a half ago. Now it's the week before Christmas and I guess the person at the other store decides not to send it. So the lady that helped me yesterday wouldnt even call another store for me! The other day they did. I am a very good Dicks customer, but I think it might be time to spend to spend my money at another sporting goods store. Dick's you might want to start training your customer better in the customer service department if you want people to spend their hard earned money at your store, because you are not the only place to shop!

Recently, I took my 8 year old to shop for baseball, soccer and basketball shoes. We play year round sports and over time have spent quite a bit of money at your store for both our 18 year old as he was growing up playing sports and now our younger son.

I grew up in the era of the old school shoe salesperson, so maybe I have too many expectations for the shoe department at Dick’s. However, when we would have purchased 3 pairs of shoes ranging from $80-$120, we walked out never to visit the store again.

The reason for my disappointment is the sales person, first, was very hard to find and to get his attention. Next, he went back, brought several pairs of shoes back, sat them down and walked off. Come to find out that most weren’t even what we asked for and different sizes and such. Keeping an 8 year old’s attention is interesting enough let alone trying to wrangle up this salesperson again to try for the right shoes. We finally gave up and left without shoes for my son’s first basketball game and first indoor soccer game settling for using the old shoes at this point in time.

I feel the need to share this with you. Maybe this is a one time occurrence. But it is soured me towards the store and it is a shame since you all have so much to offer in all aspects of sporting goods. I work out; my husband plays golf in addition to all that we need for both of our boys and their activities. We could live in your store but I refuse to be treated in a manner that is disrespectful and un-professional.

Hopefully, some training is in place for these folks and a better experience will be had by future shoppers at this store.

The Dick's in Alcoa, Tennessee is terrible. I bought a pair of running shoes and they fell apart. The salesman was great, but when I brought back the shoes I was told they had to be sent back to the manufacture. Of course they did not have that information and when the manager went to look for it, they could not find it. I wrote an e-mail complaint to the customer service department asking for the e-mail or address for the President of Dick's and they refused to give it to me. They told me to send shoes back to the maker. I asked what I should do for shoes to run in while those were in transit and I was told to buy another pair from them! These shoes have never been wet and have been run in twice. There is no way they should not have been replaced. They look new. I coach local soccer teams and we normally do around 20k of business with Dick's. They have lost all that business.

Actually, I wish that I could put 0 stars for the rating. I have been to the new Beckley, WV location on several occasions and I have never been happy with any of my shopping experiences that I have had there, since the store has opened about a month ago. The shopping experience that I had on black friday was the worst. My mother and I were in there doing some Christmas shopping and we were going to buy two of tree stands and we asked a lady if she could help us and she said that "she wasn't familiar with any of the tree stands but she would be more than happy to find someone that did" and that was fine, a sales associate (Alex) walked by and she had asked if he knew anything about them and his response was "I am on my lunch I can not help or I will get fired." He was very rude, all he had to say was "Let me see if I can find someone to help, because I am on lunch." In the meantime, while we were trying to find someone to help with the tree stands I had walked over to where the deer cameras are because I was going to purchase two of them for gifts; well I waited atleast ten minutes to get some assistance and I was completely ignored by the gentleman working in that department (he was busy with other customers). I continued to wait for his assistant and when he finally got done he continued to ignore that I was even there, other customers walked up to the area I was in and he asked all the male customers if they needed help and never acknowledged that I was there. I felt discriminated against. I returned to the tree stands where my mother was talking to another customer who had been waiting for about forty minutes for an associate to ask if he needed assistance. We asked to speak to a manager which his name was Brian; we told him about everything that happened in our shopping experience and he basically acted like the employees did nothing wrong; that they were busy, I do not care how busy you are, it doesn't take a minute to ask a customer if they need help with anything. I told him that I felt discriminated against & he said "I doubt it was like that, the employee probably thought that I was with one of the male customers". What would make the employee think that? Hello, I was the only one standing by the deer cameras for approx. twenty minutes and when other male customers where in the department he would approach them. Needless, to say we did not get any help on the tree stands and I did not buy anything from the company; I probably won't either., unless they get a friendly staff in there. Dunhams Sporting goods is right up the road and they are more than glad to help their customers.

My husband purchased basketball sneakers for our daughter at the South Portland, Maine store yesterday. The clerk never mentioned that the $132.00 cost of the sneakers would be taken out of my checking account 2 times! I called the customer service line at the top of our receipt and was told that this is their policy, and that the second charge of $132.00 would be released in 3-5 business days! Seriously! I can't afford to have them hold an additional $132.00 in my checking account! Will be writing a letter to corporate for sure.



Missing Hunting Season because of Dicks 11/18/11
I purchased a rifle combo, store did not mount the scope, got home and hd wrong scope in box, had to go back to store, they said savage put the wrong scope in box, gave correct scope (supposedly) mounted and bore sighted, got home rifle is shooting 2 feet low, can not adjust scope, eject jams 2 out of three times, hunting season starts tomorrow and store will not exchange or refund, takes two to three weeks to send to manufacturer for repair, no one at store or corporate level seems to care that they sold defective product, what they should do as a company is exchange the rifle and send it to savage for repair themselves to make customer happy but will not do that I will never shop at Dicks again

Dick’s Sporting Goods exhibit very poor customer service. Don't feel like issue was resolved when I contacted Corporate Headquarters to make a complaint, the intake person documenting the complaint was justifying actions of the local store rather than allowing me to finish making my complaint and passing it along to the proper department to ensure issue was resolved. Clearly they need to clean house from corporate level on down to the store level. She kept interrupting as I was telling my story and clearly was in favor of the actions of Dick's Sporting Goods employees. I was in the Ocala Florida store, I was checking on an R -11 Driver and met an empoyee who was rude and krast. He was wearing shorts, beard and gruff looking. He did not have any ID tag and when I told him I got better customer service and polite sales people he told me I should go there. I did later in the day and purchased an R 11 driver at Golf Smith. I won't be going to Dick's any longer.

If I could give Dick's 0 stars I would. I went in looking for protective(safety) goggles or glasses for my son that will be playing floor hockey. They said, they didn't have anymore, but she would check the back. This is after I was waiting for about 10 mins. Then she finally comes back and says they have no more. I said, would you be able to tell me if the nearest Dick's has them in stock. She said, she would call and find out. She said, to keep looking around. I said, I would follower her to the phone. What do you know she sprints over there while my 2 year old daughter and I are trying to keep up. My daughter falls and when we get over there she is helping another customer. I said, I thought you were helping me. She said, they are under staffed. Well, ok but, Why do I have to wait now. So I went to the front and asked to speak to the store manager. It took for at least 5 mins for the Assistant store manager to come and tell me that the girl handled everything wrong. Meanwhile, saying she can order them and I all I wanted was for someone to call and see if they had them at the other location.

I am so fed up with Dick's that will avoid them at all costs!

I went into Dicks Sporting Goods in selinsgrove, PA I was not having any luck with the managers so as I was waling thru the store only one employee went above and beyond and fought for me and did whatever it took to help me with my issues This employees name was Brett Witter he should be a manager not just a Bike Tech BTW Brett was not treated with any respect from his manager or other employees while trying to help me I think corporate needs to take a closer look at this outstanding employee I am a regular customer and He has always had a smile on his face.

Worst customer service EVER!!!! I was lied to by three employees including the customer service manager regarding a football jersey I had ordered earlier in the day. They then said all they could do was refund the money back to my gift card, in 3-4 business days... I called customer support and they first called the retail workers "idiots" for misleading me and then transferred me to the supervisor. SURPRISE! They actually hung up on me while connecting me. When I called back and spoke with the supervisor they first couldn't do anything, then she offered free express shipping, then 15% off of the item if I reordered it. So the employees in the store don't know the policies, and somehow magically when nothing could be done I was later offered free shipping or 15% off. How is this place still in business? I spent roughly 30 minutes in the store, 15-20 minutes on hold, and then listened to someone say nothing could be done, and minutes later the same women offered the discount... I will never recommend Dicks Sporting Goods to anyone. Especially in the Carmel, Indiana region.

The store invariably has a problem with having enough cashiers to handle normal business traffic. It is a difficult place to spend your money because of the long wait to check out. Dick's should institute a policy of bringing cashiers up anytime there is more than two people in line. There are always plenty of employees on the floor - just not at the register. This is a recurring problem at the Princeton store.

I am writing to inform you that I had a rather unpleasant experience tonight at your Tampa Citrus Park location. I went there to purchase shoes for my son who will be going on a hiking trip with his freshman class. From a corporate level you need to be aware that you have failed in training your employees even at the most basic level. Product knowledge. Great customer service can go a long ways in the eye of the consumer. We were trying to purchase a Timberland hiking boots that was originally marked $89.99, clearly marked ON Sale $79.99. You actually have the exact same shoe (the White Ledge) for $74.99 on your internet sight. I asked if you price match your own store and the shoe manger said yes. WE proceed to the checkout and the clerk(Ameer) did not want to even honor the sales price let alone the matching price. I asked to speak to the manager(Stephanie) after I went and retrieved the sign from the shoe dept.She was somewhat apologetic, but if I were in her position I would have honored the matching price. I did purchase the shoes at this location paying with tax $85.99, but in the long run you have probably lost future purchases in the amount that can really incalculable. We have no camping equipment( I will need tent,sleeping bag and all the accompanying gear). I am an avid sports fan(golfer), my son is attending an IVY league school with future disposable income. I walked away from your store with such a negative experience that I felt I had to write you. Believe me it wasn't even about the money, it was about extremely poor customer service. There are other stores were I will choose to spend my future dollars

Yesterday I was shopppiing at the Bridgeport WV location near the meadowbrook mall. I found a softball thatI liked it and serveral others were in a bin marked SALE $49.99. I went to the register when the glove was scanned it came up $69.99. I advised the cahsier this was incorrect. He called another employee for a proce check, this employee brought the casier a tag that stated this glove was $69.99. I left the registers, went back to the gloves. My wife went back to the register and ask the cashier to have the employee who brought the tag up to come back to the gloves. When he arrived he stated "whats the problem" I stated "this is where I got the glove from and this sign says the gloves are $49.99". He said "there in the wrong bin" I said "all five? Then how about helping me one that is $49.99". He looked through several bins found one in a bin marked $79.99 handed it to me and said "there" and began to walk off. Ashe was walking away I adivsed him the glove he gave me was for my right hand and I needed one for the left hand. He stated thats all we have I dont know what you want me to do. I put the glove back in a bin (not the $49.99bin). I told him his job, walked away and ask another employee for a manager. I spoke with the store manager (matt) he stated they would sell me the glove for $49.99, without hearing the story of what took place. I felt as if he was just pushing me off and didnt care how his employees were treating the stores customers. I advised him I didnt want the glove for $49.99 or $69.99 what I wanted was for this employee to understand he has a job to do and it wasnt done right. With that I left. Today I called the store and ask to speak witht he store manager matt. The girl ask about what (this is not her problem) I ask her if she was the store manager she said no. I ask her to get the manager and leave it at that. I will no longer do any business with dicks corp. on any level there customer service sucks the employees have no idea how to stock shelves, answer phones, or talk to people. Last year I spent over three thousand dollars with this company. I am urging everone who reads this shop and spend your money eles where. Bass pro sho, cabelas, gander mountain.

Dicks in McDonough doesn't even deserve a star, maybe a pile of _____ ! I bought my child a bike from Dicks for Christmas last year. It has spent more time in their repair shop than the time he could ride it. Since I know nothing about bikes, other than how to ride, I have several people telling me there is a very poor design flaw with the derailer. Each time it has been taken in we get the run around. For two months we called several times each week and must have been told at least 20 times "someone will call you back" Well besides the fact they offer Customer NO-Service no one ever called back
The second repair, same situation, was comped. Now take into consideration that we have the extended warranty. They have had the bike for 5 weeks this time and only yesterday was I told they would not work on it until I came and paid for the same parts again !!! After some moron looking for the paperwork for over an hour last night, were we told by THE MONKEY THAT RUNS THE STORE that they have so many bikes to repair they they are no longer taking anymore in. My child did without his bike most of the summer so I went to Walmart a few weeks ago and bought him a bike. Folks save your self a boat load of money, aggrivation and stress DO NOT SHOW WITH THE DICKS AT DICK'S

Saturday I went shopping foe a bicylce for my wife. Each place I went no one had any knowledge are seemed to want my buisness. I made one final stop at Dick's on HWY 280 in Birmingham, Al. There I was greeted by Eric, who I later found out was the store manager. He was beyond helpful and explained all my options and answered all my questions. He never got frustrated with me or my wife and at the same time was dealing with issues throughout the store. Eric sold me exactly what I wanted and treated me exactly how a customer wishes to be treated. Corporate, you could learn from this young man as I have tried all day to talk to someone about his outstanding performance. My good luck continued when I was greeted by a young lady named Eden at the cash register. She actually made me and my wife feel special as she rang up our items. Great job Eric and Eden I will continue to come to you for all my sporting good needs.

Horrible customer service !! Ask a question of an employee, she was very rude. Then went to check out with a chair that was 2/ 14.00 and it rang up at 9.99 I of course questioned it. They said beings i only got 1 chair, i had to pay full price. I told them, that no where on the sign did it say that. The cashier was rude, so I told her she needed to quit being a b___h She was so shocked that I had said that. She called a manager who seemed to be about 20 years old. He told me to leave the store. Said that basically I was stupid to think that I would get one chair for 7.00 anyway, I was treated very bad. I hope they go Bankrupt!!

Actually, zero stars. I spent several hours trying to locate a particular pair of shoes in a particular size for my daughter. Called a bunch of Dicks' stores and after a 10-minute hold at the Easton, Columbus, location was told that they had them, right size, etc and would put them on hold. I drove 1/2 hour there, purchasing $70 worth of gift cards at my local grocery store on the way. Waited 10 minutes for assistance; the size they had put on hold was incorrect, waited 15 more minutes for assistance and was then informed that they don't have the right size. The gift cards are non-refundable at the grocery store, and neither the store nor Dicks Headquarters "can do anything, so sorry." I don't ever have a need to shop there, only did this time because I was told they had the shoes! Hey, glad I don't have stock in Dicks... So, I'm going to turn this into something good: buy some footwear to give to kids in need (and take it as a tax deduction!) Boooo! bad Dicks!

I won a Taylormade driver at a golf outing. Since I did not need a new driver I wanted to return it for a pair of golf shoes and hybrid club. I stopped by the store in Aurora, OH and the employee in the golf dept. told me that as long as it was unused and had the bar codes on it, I could return it for the price that was paid for it. I returned the next day with the club and the store refused to give me anything but a merchandise credit that was $38 less than what it was purchased for. I was so frustrated with them that I acquired the receipt and returned to North Olmsted, OH store with the club. I applied part of the balance to a new pair of shoes. They did not have the club that I wanted but the employee in the golf department told me that I could use the balance from the return online to purchase the club and pick it up at one of the with no shipping fee. The next day I tried to do this but was unable because it was a merchandise credit. I called the contact number and was redirected to customer service. After a ten minute argument with that person, I demanded to be transferred to her supervisor. She refused to transfer me twice, telling me that I would just get the same answer, and then put me on hold. She just kept throwing out the "corporate policy" excuse. When she came back she asked for my address and agreed to send me a gift card. I wasted a total of three hours and forty miles of driving because I was misinformed twice by the store employees. Dick's is just another big box store that is driving jobs out of the US and into China with lousy customer service and a poor corporate structure that prevents it's employees from making good customer service decisions when given the opportunity. This is my last purchase as Dick's.

This job a monkey could do.......I purchased a set of Left handed Golf clubs in Pink Ribbon to also support Breast Cancer Awareness, and when I got home the clubs had Right handed inside....I took them back to the store and after an hour of them calling around to regional stores they found out all the boxes marked left really had right hand clubs in them, and the pink only came in right handed....Sorry they tell me and send me on my way....I call customer service corporate and here is where they could have hired a monkey to do corporate, when I am told basically oh well....I say I found a nationwide mistake for you as all the clubs sent to all the stores with pink ribbon clubs are marked wrong, and when I say I dont even get a Thank You, that is an understatement....I'll bet the woman I spoke with is sitting at the conference table with her new found discovery of how the clubs have been packaged wrong.....I am as a sad customer taking my clubs back to the store, and am applying for a customer service corporate job....LOL......

CHECK YOUR RECEIPT!! The El Segundo store in California intentionally displays product to trick the customer into believing they are paying a lower price. All the price tags on a huge display are $9.98, however when you check your receipt you've been charged $14.98! When pointed out to the sales staff, they are very defensive! SMELLS like a SCAM!

I went to return it they said they could take it back because the defect wasn't noticeable to them. I was under the impression that the customer was always right, especially when they buy a 60 dollar basketball that they aren't satisfied with. I guess they would rather have the 60 dollars than a customer.

0 stars! I will never shop at a Dicks sporting goods store again. I purchased a very expensive mountain bike from them and three weeks later it came apart while my husband was riding it. After attempting to speak to management about it she rudely told me that the only thing they could do was take a look at it but it wouldn't be for 2-3 weeks as they were "backed up" in the bike department. After trying to get an exchange or refund or something back from this inconveinance that it caused me, I was told that nothing could be done. This was at the Lincoln St. store in Worcester, MA so beware before buying a bike or anything from them. Very bad customer service and management.

I shop the store in Easton PA. I am handicapped and require the use of a power cart when I go shopping. The store in Easton PA has "one and only one" cart which has been out of order for 2 years now. Everytime I ask when I go shopping there, they tell me the parts are on oder. Two years to get parts???? I can't shop in that store because of this. It should have more than one cart for people with disabilities....Thank you!!!

We purchased a bike for our son. It has not been 90 days and the bike is falling apart. We brought the bike back to the store and the associate from the bike department tried to fix the problems. While trying to correct the issues, the rep caused further issues. They are no longer making/carrying this brand of bike and after a hassle with the store manager, we were issued a store credit, not a refund. Here is my problem: We paid cash for this bike, and Dick's would not issue us back a cash refund. Instead, a store credit was issued because the bike was not in new condition as per the return intstructions. How could anyone purchase a bike and return it in "Brand New" condition? No one buys a bike and dosen't use it and then decides to take it back to the store. Further, the return policy dosen't even mention bikes on the back of the receipt. Corporate, basically said it is what it is and the rep didn't know what else to tell me. So, now I'm stuck with a store credit that will take me forever to use as I am not a regular shopper ot Dick's sporting goods.
The Moral of this story: Buyer beware and make sure you check this store's return policy. Use your credit card if possible, at least you can dispute the charge.Very poor customer service and satisfaction.

The one star is way too much. It's as full of holes as the store's questionable reputation. My experience with Dick's Sporting Goods has been a nightmare. Customer service on all levels really SUCK and the witch I talked with in the corporate office, the ultimate decision maker, needs to do her homework on legalities. I think she supposes herself to be the prima donna of retail and the great decision maker in pissing off yet another customer. Guess that's how she gets her jollies. Right, Jean??? If you want to find satisfaction in your sporting goods purchases and get what you paid for, I would suggest that you deal with a more reputable dealer because this one is only interested in what you can do for them...hence, show me the money!!!

i live in Idaho the outdoors of outdoors and you go to dicks for snowmobile gear and they don't have anything, everyone either skies or snowmobiles in Idaho then you go to get some ATV assesories and no surprise they don't carry ATV stuff almost everyone in Idaho has an atv for fun, hunting, farms. This is the most unhelpful sporting goods store for Idaho even there ski appreal isn't rated for Idaho weather.When will they get it!!!!! that last unhelpful sporting goods store in the same location went out of business after a couple of years for the same reason.

I know where i wont be shopping ever again, South Hills Village Mall Dicks. The manager, Jason, had no business running the store. He is the type of person that makes me never want to talk to management... The only answer from his mouth "Its the way Corporate does it, we have no control" Even though i know that is the truth, it doesn't help when your only day off in weeks in ruined. That isn't what you expect from 'the best country in the world'...

Kelly from Dicks Sporting Goods in Lancaster is one of the rudest store managers I have ever met. I'm absolutely appalled that they let her represent their store in such a terrible manner. She was extremely disrespectful to both my fiance and myself and made no attempt to help us with what we needed. I will never go back into that store and I hope the upper management at Dicks realizes what a terrible mistake they made hiring her.

I took my road bike in to this store for a minor maintenance issue that i just didnt have the tools for. My rear hub is a flip flop hub, freewheel on one side, fixed gear on the other. after a month of having it back i was loading the bike into my brothers truck and noticed that my fixed gear sprocket was now missing. Being that i never use the fixed gear it went unnoticed until now. After speaking with the store manager they swear up and down that they didnt take it, they dont have it blah blah blah, what i DO know is that that bike went in with a fixed gear sprocket, and came out without one. DO NOT use this store for ANY bike repair. Unless you want missing parts that is.

I went to the kenesaw store this weekend and watched two people get the run around by a so called manager they waited in line 3 times just to get a fishing liscense.I will never spend a dime again with this so called buisiness. BUYER BEWARE

HORRIBLE service. I had to wait 30 minutes for assistance; and asked 3 times before someone came to help me. On top of that, the fitness equipment I ordered, took OVER 1 month to arrive. I had to call 3 times to get assistance. Each time I was told they would call me back, nothing. HORRIBLE. I will never set food in a Dick's again, and implore you NOT to shop there. They awe AWFUL. Particularly the store in Rockaway, NJ.

I called on behalf of PetSmart's corporare office to partner with Dick's for a charitable event. I was appalled by the way their corporate office answers their phones. As I was trying to provide my name, purpose and where I needed to be directed the operator rudely kept cutting me off with "yeah, yeah, yeah". To the point I stopped speaking and just said "Wow" because I was at a loss for words. My explanation lasted no more 1 minute and 6 seconds before I hung up after hearing that they are just too busy as a switchboard and need to answer a dozen calls at a time. A word of advice, first impressions are everything perhaps you need more resources on your switchboard.

I recently bought a basketball hoop and pole product from Dick's and it has been the worst experience of my life. It has been almost 2 months since my purchase and they still have not installed this product correctly. I will never set foot into another Dick's again and I would highly recommend that you don't either. The service is terrible and you can find competitive pricing at other stores like Sports Authority. Upper management is not concerned about customer service, you will get pushed through an endless sea of voice messages and if someone does call you back they are not qualified or have the authority to remedy the problem.

I placed 2 online orders in the same day. I was sent an email to confirm the orders. A week later , nothing , not an email or phone call to let me know the items have been shipped. I called customer service when i was told 1st order was on loading dock and 2nd order was cancelled. Because there wasnt enough to fill the order. I find this really hard to believe since I can still go on web and order them. But the price is different now. Shocker!!!!!! When the manager got on the phone she said both orders were cancelled. Because they were mispriced online. So what happened to the 1st order that was on shipping dock???? Or was it that there wasnt enough to fill order? Get your story straight!!!! I will tell you exactly what it is. I ordered enough of an item to reach $99.00 for the free shipping and they were priced very cheap. When Dicks found out the big error online, instead of honoring my orders they just cancelled them without an email or phone call. Hey if I had ordered a pair of sneakers and the other item together you would have never cancelled. But because i ordered quantity of one item you just think you have the right to cancel without notification>>>>>>>>

Unfortunately I have to agree with the lack of customer service at the Gresham, Or location. I never saw a manager and none of the sales personnel were interested in helping me out either. The only response I received was "I know the manager would not do that". I did receive better service from the Clackamas location and there was a manager there who tried to solve what was a minor problem that turned into a big one. When I asked to have the product I wanted sent to a closer location for pick-up, I was told it would take a month to do, which involved a twenty minute drive for the store and an hour drive for me. Needless to say after driving over 100 miles round trip I was not a happy customer. I have been in retail service for over 25 years. I simply can not understand a company hiring people who do not care about their customers. No wonder so many companies are going under. I will not shop at Dick's again. I would not have bought this product but it was the only one in town and I had already promised my students I would buy it for them.

I went to Dicks Sporting Goods in Monaca, PA. I had my son with me and we got some stuff for golf. Not much about $79 worth. When I went to the counter to check out the girl ask if i wanted to donate $1. or more for military family's. I thought for a second because i already shop at Golf Galaxy which is an affiliate of Dicks, and Golf Galaxy gives military discounts but Dicks doesn't. I thought what heck i ask if they give discounts now and she replied nope, that they have talked to management but wont do it. I was very irritated to say the least. Not because they wont give a discount but because they ask for a donation for military families but then wont give a discount for a military family. Makes me wonder what are they really doing with the donation, didnt seem to want to do anything for me as a family member.

I went in to purchase a product and was asked to donate a dollar to the veteran's, I advised that I was a disabled veteran and would like a veteran's discount. I was told they don't give discounts to the veteran's because giving a donation to the veterans already.

I'm appauld that they ask the customer to donate a dollar, then represent themself as presenting money to the veteran's, however they are asking a customer to give them the money to begin with. That's not giving to the organization of the veteran....Cabela's, Bass Pro all give a 10% to vet's, along with Home depot, Lowe's and all most stores. We the vet gave alot to this country and continue to sacrifice our life for the right to be free.

I tried to get someone answer my question but get recorded lines and not a real person to address my concern. All veteran's and family of a veteran needs to file a complaint against this practice, I was told also they will match prices to others store, when I asked to match the discount given to the vt...received the same response "We do not give discount to the vet's.

They live up to their name anyway! I purchased a boat from them and they failed to give me the proper paperwork with it and now i cant register it and because i dont have my register receipt they wont help me. Unfortunatly when i bought it i was unaware that i needed paperwork and since i bought it in the fall for the following season months had passed before i was aware. When i called them on it they had no idea what it was i needed. If they are going to sell something that has certain legalities attached to it they should know what they are doing. The registry said its like selling a car without the proper paperwork...idiots...i will never bring my business there again! Now im sitting on a 500 dollar boat that will never see the water..fml

I'm stationed at ft Dix,nj and went to the levittown,pa location and I must comment on such a lack of urgency to check people out or ring them out there were at least 8 people on line with 2 registers working and workers standing around talking while the line kept growing I guess I felt if my money is not needed in this store then ill go elsewhere to do my shipping and of course that's what I did...good day

I have lost complete faith in Dick's sporting goods Management. as with the other comments I have read it seems Dick's sporting goods Management really needs an over hall. I went into the Glen Allen Va store and noticed one of their contractors, paper shreading service, had their huge tractor trailer parked right in front of the front door. Clearly marked FIRE LANE NO PARKING. I explained to the Manager I was concerned about custoemr, kids, walking past this truck to get back out to their cars. Created a blind spot that on coming traffic couldn't see pedestrians. Manager told me it was my responsibility to call the cops. I informed him that it was his contractor he hired to do a service and It is Dick's responsibility to tell them where to park. I hope like hell no one every gets hit and I hope like hell that Dick gets sued when it happens. all the Manager needed to do was tell me he understood and would handle but instead this piece of crap Manager decided to prove some kind of messed up point on how it was my job to handle. i will unexhaustfully now let all I know about how DIck's operates. I have also called corporate on this and they don't care enough to return a customers call. i hope and pray one day I am in a situation I can screw Dick's. nice way to have a customer feel after buyinf things from ya ain't it.

I just wanted to commend you for the awsome crew you have at the 280 location in Birmingham Alabama.They have made this years season so easy. Jeff in sporting goods is a great guy, willing to acutally try on baseball helmets wen my child was not present. I am usually in there a couple times a week and i never leave without a smile a a few good laughs. Yvonne at customer service is great. She has a love to serve and always has a smile. This location has made what could be a stressful time be so simple. I have never had a problem with a return and if it wasnt in the store they will have it sent straight to my door.I hope you are very proud of the crew you have here. Thanks guys for everything you have done. Keep up the good work cause I will be coming back.

We went in the Independence Missouri location and they had shoe's on a display for sale items and the employee was helping us and got the shoe's for my wife. We liked them at took them to buy but when we got to the front to check out the rung up wrong price, the original price not the sell price so the (what he said the manager no name tag or anything) said that he would give us 20 dollars off the original price that we could not get them at the sale price because they were half price. And the girl that helped us and my wife showed him they were listed at half off. They were very rude and did not give us the advertised price. The store was very unprofessional and unorganized. If the product is marked a price it should be that price if it is the stores fault then the customer should be right. But the customer is never right any more people that work in the retail are very educated and know more that anyone..RIGHT

Make sure you read the small print on all warranties from Lifetime products, especially the Lifetime Elite Basketball Hoops. The product I purchased and had installed was defective and, where they replaced the backboard, the warranty read that I had to pay for the shipping of the backboard and that they would not cover the re-installation of the backboard.

HOW IS THAT RIGHT? I paid $1,000 for a bad product and I have to pay more money to fix what they screwed up?

Dick's Sporting Goods should have made it right and all they did was offer to give me a discount on re-installing the product that they made a profit on in the first place.
