It was Sunday on Jan. 15,2012. My wife and I received gift certificates to Carmike Cinemas located at Morgantown site 07 - 5523. We had been going to a competitor: Hollywood Cimema before this and really like its facilities This day we went o Carmike Cinema to see Sherlock Homes 2 and use the gift certificates. We purchased a soda and went to watch our movie. It was kind of cold and we thought the heat would turn on at any time. We kept on with the movie but then my feet started to get really cold and my wife started coughing. This was about 1/2 way through the movie theater # 8. that we decided it was to cold for us. I spoke to the Manager Kevin for site 07 - 5523 Mall 12 Cinema. He was very nice and explained they know of the heat problem and is to be fixed this week. (27 degrees outside and it must have been like 45 degrees in side) I explained I did not think much of letting public go into see a show with out heat. Kevin gave us cash back which I am glad its cash and not a gift certificate. He explained everyone was to be told about the heat problem as we entered the room. No one was mentioning this to us or anyone else from what I saw. We will use the cash to to to to Hollywood theaters a direct competitor and have a really great time as we have in the past.

Inb my 45 years, I have NEVER been so taken advantage of as of Yesterday when My Daughter and I along with 100 other people, Paid 10 dollars each to view the Movie "The devil within", This was Absolulty the Worse movie ever produced and shown for money.. The MAIN ISSUE I have with carmike Cinema in this matter is this: The movie was to start at 2:50 pm. Carmike showed previews for 35 minutes taking us into 3:30pm before this Garbage movie began, The movie was about 55minutes long, THATS IT!!! Carmike Knew this and showed over a Half Hr. in previews to make the paying customers think they got their moneys worth.. CARMIKE SHOULD BE AHAMED of them selves for taking advantage of people in this mannerm The 8.50 for 20 ounces of popcorn wasnt bad enough.. I WILL NEVER, as I am sure the hundreds of others that were LIVID after that movie was over will NEVER walk into a Carmike theatre again.. I am going to make this matter the topic of our union meeting this week as well.. We ONLY HAVE 16,000 members state wide, but with Family and friends added, This should put a dent in the Carmike opportunity to screw doog people over any time soon around here.... Carmike should refund the money to anyone that truly believes they were taken advantage of with regards to this showing... ****However, we ALL KNOW corporate greed states "NO REFUNDS" "WE didnt make the movie, we just screwed the viewer over by showing it at 10.00 each ticket"

I have lived in Maryville, Tn, for 14 years & the only theater we have is Carmike owned. Over the first few months after a remodel and reopening, the complex smelled foul, was dirty, and stains from spilled drinks were permeating the new carpet. It was awful. Now, a new complex is current under construction & the people of our town are hoping that that same will not happen to this very expensive building. Please hire new competent managers who care, staff who are pleasant, and see to it that this very new theater stays clean so our citizens can feel comfortable going for a movie here. In the past I have tried to contact corporate & have left messages but never had a call back. It is clear that NO ONE cares. We all hope this has changed! Thank you! Hey Columbus, Georgia, PLEASE GIVE A DAMN if you have spent the $$$$$ to rebuild, MAKE SOME CHANGES!!!!!! Someone who cares in east Tennessee. Does anyone even look at these comments????????????? I went to see "War Horse" over the holidays. Prior to the film, there were 10 minutes of commercials and then 25 minutes of previews!!! That is 35 minutes we were FORCED to watch for a movie that we PAID to see! It put me in a foul mood for the movie. I will NOT be going back to the Carmike here in town just because of that reason!

I wanted to thank you so much for the manager you have running your theater in Moundsview, MN. He has been the manager for awhile now, before he took over as manager this theater was not a place i wanted to be. This guy is really on top of his job, I believe his name is gabe malone. we appreciated his customer service, my son is in a wheelchair, and he went out of his way for us, he was helpful and courteous, we liked the cleanliness and the efficiency that the theater was run. we will definitely be back and we will recommend this theater to all of our family and friends thank you so much. sincerely sherry johnson P.S. please let him know he is appreciated, other friend's of mine were impressed by him as well.

This theater, in Great Falls Montana is the most unorganized. We will boycott it for a long time now. you can no longer purchase tickets at the box office, but stand in a LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG line at concessions for tickets and wait and wait while other customers decide what they might need to eat as well. There isd usually only 3 kids behind the counter and most of the time they are talking......what gives? We know you are the only game in town, but we sure don't have to go! WE WON'T GO!!!!!!!!!

If there was a way to give a negative rating I most definitely would. My wife, daughter, niece, and their grandmother went to see a movie. The kids had to use the bathroom, my daughter walked out of the stall and there was so much water on the floor she slipped and smacked her face on the floor. To top it off there were no paper towels. So my wife had to use her jacket to wipe the nasty floor water off of her face. They had to go see the movie so I tried calling to talk to someone. After calling 4 times someone finally answered the phone. The only thing they did was clean the bathroom and take my wife's name and number for an incident report. I for one will never go to a Carmike Cinema again. I would expect this in Antioch, Tn but in Franklin, Tn

Whoever thought of the twilight marathons, surely didn't take the other people into consideration when it comes to purchasing a ticket for the single movie Breaking Dawn. I purchased a ticket for Big D and didn't get to see the movie in Big D! Why is that? Because all the seats were already taken by the Twilight Marathon people. I paid extra for Big D and got regular movie seating. I would appreciate a call back or a email. This is so terrible! Halfpintshort05@yahoo.com........thank from a very upset customer

Went to take my kids to the movie Puss N Boots. The ticket counter was closed and we were instructed to get tickets at the concession stand. There was only one concession side open and there were 4 cash registers and the lines were 20+ people deep. I saw 28 people leave. Then we were behind 10 people and the credit/debit machine went out and we were told we had to get our money out of the ATM which woulc have cost me $2.50 rather than $.50 running the card through the debit/credit card machine. The manager had zero compassion for people. This is no way to run a business and then they will whine they lose money because people aren't going to the movie, I wonder why? We stood in line for 35 minutes and would have missed the front part of the movie anyway. This is not good customer service and the managing of the business is BAD.

On October 14th, 2011, my wife and I went to the Carmike Cinema in Johnson City, Tenn. The movie was to start @ 2:30 P.M. we went in and found our seats thinking we only had to wait 10 min. 25 Min. later the movie finally started. The movie started and ran for about 20 min. then the movie shut down. We waited another 20 min. and when the movie still hadn't resumed we walked out. We went to the consession stand and requested to see the manager. When he finally showed up he acted very bothered. When I got my refund we went to the car and started our ride home. I then thought to myself what the hell just happened? My wife and I drove 17 miles one way, bought a large bag of popcorn and a large soda, paid 7.50 for each ticket even though we are both senior citizens, sat for 35 min. in a freezing theater and for all our trouble we only got our tickets refunded. What a crock of bull!!! I requested my refund and recieved a pair of tickets. When I should have gotten my money and the tickets for all the trouble we went through. We didn't even finish the bag of popcorn and soda. One other thing when we were leaving the movie I looked back and there were another fifteen or twenty people waiting for refunds. Also last year we had something almost the same happen at the same theater. I understand that things are hard but, they should repair the equipment and honor their responsibility to the public !!! They may make their bread but they forget, " WE the Public Butter it. "

On September 10, 2011 my family and I decided to go see a movie together, there were seven of us in our party. We choose Apollo 18 at 4:50pm in theater #9. This theater is located in one of two malls located in my town of Colorado Springs, CO...the mall we went to is the nicer, classier of the two malls. I am flabbergastic about what was inside theater #9. First let me describe the setting, this particular theter was dirty and gross...it took us atleast 5-10 minutes to find seats next to each other that were not covered in gum or some other foul substance...in any event three of us still had to sit elsewhere and not by the family. Out of the seven of us there were two children ages 4 and 5 and my uncle who is mentally handicapped. I point these three individuals out for a purpose. My uncle after about 15 minutes into the movie jumped up and ran out of the theater. We figured he was going to use the bathroom. Wrong. He came back and sat down...another 5 minutes later he did the same thing...this time when he returned he was crying...my uncle is 53 years old. My mom, his sister went outside of the theater and then returned...my uncle returned about ten minutes later and you could tell something was wrong...my uncle put his feet on the chairs in front of him. About 5-10 minutes later I hear people behind me..they were saying there were rats or mice running over their toes, one girl screamed and that group of people left the theater. I looked at my mom and she was distraught. The movie ended and the lights came on and my uncle was crying. We walked right outside the theater doors and I said whats wrong. He showed me his ankle..it was apparant something had nibbled on his skin. He told me...there was rats crawling on him. I asked these other couples that exited the theater after us and they said did you guys see those rats. How Disgusting...rodents and not to mention the amount of feces that must have been in that theater. I complained to the manager and he said he was well aware of the situation and refunded our money. Who cares about being refunded why are customers be let into a theater where there is rats??????? I hope someone from corporate contacts me...I am thinking of taking this issue to a higher source.

We go to the movies every Friday night with friends in Cartersville, Ga. It used to be a very relaxing experience, but now is constantly being interrupted by cell phone use during the movie. There is no enforcement of the silence your cell phone or no texting rules. We recently traveled to a Carmike theatre at Pier Park in Panama City Beach, Fl. I was so impressed by the manager- he made an announcement at the beginning of the movie that anyone with a phone lit up anywhere would be ejected, no questions asked. They actually monitored this during the movie. Thank you!!!

My husband and I went to the Carmike theater in Pine Bluff Arkanss which is located in the mall. We purchased our tickets then went on to buy popcorn and drinks. It was cool inside the lobby, but when we walked into the room to watch the movie I noticed it was really warm. I thought, ok when the movie starts it will start to get a little cooler in here. I was wrong!! all thru the movie it was like a sweat box in there. No air whatsoever.. People were fanning with whatever they could find to keep cool. I suffered thru the movie and when it was finished I went to the concession stand counter and asked the girl behind the counter what was wrong with the air. She said the air didnt work in that room. I said, and why didnt anyone bother to tell us when we bought our tickets that the air wasnt working in that movie? Thats ridiculous to pay $20 to see a movie and have to sit in a sauna to watch it. Thats negligence on the company's part not to inform the movie goers what they are going to have to endure to watch a movie.. I want my money back!! and will keep on infornming everyone I see about how terrible our experience was at Carmike theater!

My incident with carmike theatre wasn't a good one. I went to the 9:30 movie to see The Hangover. Me and my boyfriend got there a little early. We were the only people there. The lights were on so we were able to see the condition of the theatre. All I can say is gross. We had to look at every seat in the theatre to find a seat that wasn't to disgusting. The seats are all nasty and stained. I didn't want to touch them that's how bad it was. Either rethe stained seating or have them cleaned. This theatre was in Decatur Illinois. We told the manager that we were disgusted. I Can be reached at jackieflinn69@yahoo.com. I will be going to the strand theatre from now on. Which is owed by this same company. But its newer.

i have been coming to your theaters in goodlettsville, Tn for all my life and im 43 years old . there was a promotion with the 15 dollar buckets of popcorn and the man told us you buy the bucket and the popcorn was free refills the rest of the movie. me and my family of 6 thought that was a great deal so we took advantage of the deal. we have been to a number of movies sense then and had no troubles with the refills. tonight we went to windsong 10 on myate dr. in rivergate tn and they started saying that every refill was 2.50 throughout the whole movie . now i don't know who was not telling the truth about it , the first man that sold us the bucket or the manager we talked to tonight but myself and my girlfriend missed the movie over trying to straiten this out, and the kids didn't get any more popcorn. we spent alot of money on tickets alone when going to the movies not to mention large drinks for everyone to get the free refills ,and have been to a number of movies with the bucket and had no trouble getting the free refills. but after tonight and our trouble with the rude manager there we will not be going back. we missed a show we wanted to see over something that has never happened to us before and was treated bad. if we had been told from the beginning that the bucket was 2.50 every refill we would not have bought it when you can get a large with free refills.but we was told that you pay once when you come in then free refills. i could not believe the manager would loose customers over a bucket of popcorn when we spent so much money on everything else ,not to mention the amount of movies we go to see at that theater.just thought you would like to know that because of this if we ever go see a movie again it will be at a regal. i did not like missing the movie or going without the popcorn that we had no trouble with before. your a big company and might not care about a few people with a bad visit but one day it's going to be more than just a few treating people that way.

My experience at Carmike Cinemas 12 was awful. There is only so much that good service can do when the obviously underfunded and ignored building is overwhelmingly uninviting. The problems started in the ladies restroom when I almost fell in the toilet because the seat was not properly attached. I admit I was already in a bad mood by the time I reached the ticket/concession booth however things got even worse when the person helping me suggested I purchase a bucket that put my family's movie trip total over $50. The cashier told me that the 2011 bucket was a deal but unlike the combos no discount was offered on the drinks or candy and when i asked for something to hold the popcorn in for my children who wanted butter when I did not they told me there was nothing they could offer me. So it made the most sense to get a combo because apparently there are no free refills on the bucket only the large bags however when I asked for one of the drinks to be an icee they told me that was not an option which makes no sense to me because if I remember correctly the frozen drinks are cheaper than the fountain drinks. To say the least I found the concession options limited and overpriced. I went on to try and enjoy my family outing we watched 20 minutes of previews just to sit in a dark theater, I had hoped a worker would notice a problem but after 5 minutes had past it was apparent I would need to walk to the front and inform someone. My children still wanted to watch the movie so I went back to the theater after a worker informed me that the manager was fixing the problem. I endured another 20 minutes of the same previews to find myself sitting in a dark theater again waiting for the movie to start. To make matters worse during both attempts to watch the movie Judy Moody my entire family was sweating as much as they were being outside in the summer heat, which should not happen in a movie theater. I did not find one incentive to return to Carmike Cinemas and in the process found many incentives to stuff my purse full of bottled sodas and candy from the gas station if I ever decide to slum it at Carmike again. It is obvious this company does not care about its' customers so why should any customers continue giving business to this company.
