Our first trip to Colorado turned out to be a frightening experience. We stayed in a Best Western in Ouray Co for one night,on our way to a train ride my husband has been wanting for years. Half asleep,I was awakened with a phone call from my daughter, who was also staying with us. She informed me she has gotten a call from the manager of the hotel, informing us the computers had crashed and they needed additional information. Not thinking, half asleep I answered the call minutes later through the hotels lines. Shame on me for giving out the information again..When we realized what we had done,we called the front desk, no one answered..so we went out to the lobby. It had closed at 9 PM!!!! We called the managers' number on the door. He said he couldn't help us, he was not on the premises and it probably was a scam .He said he had informed all rooms and called the local police. He also informed us the police had "caught the guys". We asked him about not being on the premises, not receiving a call and called him a liar. He just walked away from us. I was so upset I couldn't sleep fearing these "guys had our names, room numbers etc. We left early the next morning passing him in the lobby. He never offered to help us or showed any compassion . If it were my hotel, I would have at least knocked on our door to see if they're was anything I could do. I guess the Tiki Bar was more important. I am currently disputing the charges on my cancelled credit card and have logged a complaint with the corporate offices..Is this any way to run a hotel???????? Minutes later my daughter saw him coming out of the bar area. We approached him confonted him about not being on the premises and told him we never received a call. We cancelled our credit cards, and couldn't sleep that night going back and forth with credit card companies, police departments etc. In the morning

My husband made a reservation on-line for our son and family at a Best Western hotel yesterday. When my son arrived at the hotel, he was told the reservation had been made; however, because he couldn't produce the credit card used by my husband, he would have to pay using his own credit card. This is a ridiculous policy. My husband wanted to provide the hotel room as a gift to our son. Because of your misguided policy, the intended gift backfired and caused a financial hardship for our son. And don't tell me this policy is to protect the card holder. We have other means of protection. This is the last time we'll deal with Best Western Hotels.

I stayed at the Best Western Plus in Richmond Hill, Georgia from July 13-18, 2012 with my grandson's baseball team. Because the team did not secure the boy's room with a valid credit card, on July 23rd, I found charges for 4 additional rooms and also a $35.00 plus charge for incidentals. The hotel was not willings to reverse the charges until I stated that I was filing fradulent charges against them. In addition to this fiasco, the hotel placed a bottle of smart water for $4.00, a tube of M&Ms for $4.00 and a can of regular pringles for $4.00 in each room, because I travel on a regular basis, I was aware of what was going on and informed the coaches to not let the children eat or drink these items. I am am at a lost as to why a hotel would do this with 2 baseball teams in their facility. Last but not least the pool was overloaded with chlorine that it was burning the eyes of the kids. The mainteance man boosted that it was his day off and the person who filled in did not know how to maintain a pool. (give me a break), these children could have sustained permanent damages because of this. The front desk handled the 2 groups of kids fairly well but other than that, this stary was horrific.

I called about a reservation in Tallaqhue, OK. The check in time on the web site said 2:00 pm, I called and asled about checking in early. The desk clerk said the web site was wrong, it was 3:00pm, I told her she should update their web site for current/correct information. She said corporate was in charge of all information and they (the mangager) had talked to them about the wrong inforation on check in time. She said corporate was just a bunch of idiots and didn't know what they were doing. I ask several other questions and she didn't know the answe to any of them. I then ask to speak to a manager and she promptly said "NO" the manager and owner said never to give out their names to anyone because they didn't ant to hear about any problems from the customers. I can say this, I've spent 25 years in the US Army and have traveled all over the world, and have stayed in some bad places sleeping on the ground. I WILL NEVER EVER STAY IN A BEST WESTERN MOTEL AGAIN. This motel has the worst customer service rate of anybody I have ever seen. If you want great service, don't stay in a Best Western Motel. If any body from Corporate Headquarters acutally reads these comments, you shoud probably go and teach your staff something about customer service.

We went to the Best Western in Howell Michigan and was very disappointed. We went up to the room and it was very hot we turned on the ac to cool it off and after about an hour it wasn't doing anything my husband went down to talk to them they said give it a little bit just takes some time we gave them the benefit and went on to our family reunion. We came back 5 hours later and it was still hot in the room (actually it was cooler outside than it was in the room) so my husband went down to tell them they have to do something about this and they refused said there was nothing wrong with the ac. We decided to deal with this in the morning so we left the motel and went down to the Hilton (and actually it was cheaper we got a 2 room suite with a king size bed for $116.00 a night Best Western charged us $135.00 for a stinky hot cheap looking room) in the morning we went back to Best Western to speak with the manager he was so rude about it didn't want to hear what we were saying he said he could only give us half the money back. My husband called corporate told them what happened after about 45 min on the phone they finally refund us the rest of our money. So if you are going to stay the night in a motel when you are in Howell Michigan DO NOT stay at the Best Western off exit 137 on I96 go down a few exits to stay at the Homewood Suites by Hilton exit 145 the rooms are nicer clean AC works great and they have a full hot breakfast

I have sayed at the Best Western Garden Suites in Twentynine Palms for approximatley 2 months, on July 18 2012 I left my room at 4:15 am to go to work at the Base I returned to my room at approximatley 2:00 pm, I find a note on the desk saying "THIS IS A NON-SMOKING ROOM. ANY ROOMS THAT SMELL OF TOBACCO OR SMOKE AT THE TIME OF CHECK OUT WILL BE CHARGED. Upon seeing this sign on the desk, I called the Front Desk and asked what it was about? The clerk said the room smelled like pot, I said "I haven't smoked pot for 20 years", the clerk said "Well the housekeeper and a maintaince person said it did" I called Corperate Headquarters is AZ, spoke with Missy and whom called the owner of the motel. I spoke with the owner and the note was to be a low key reminder, didn't come across to me that way, alas I saw their point of view and relaxed my point of view, I want to meet the housekeeper and the maintenance person for their view. As I write this at 3:14 pm, I just smelled what I think is pot, I called the front desk, they need to do some research regarding surrounding rooms and will.

I have to clarify upfront, this rating is not actually for a hotel stay but rather for the matter-of-fact obnoxious snubbing we recieved that prevented us from staying in the Best Western "South Coast Inn" in Goleta, California just north of Santa Barbara. My wife, daughter and I were invited to a wedding in Santa Barbara that will take place August 4th, 2012. A friend had reccomended the South Coast Inn due to it's proximity and calm atmosphere. On their web site we read that if you "Like" them on Facebook, they will discount your stay 15%. We did exactly that. When we called, the reservationist "Michele" stated we were not eligible because that was a "Fiesta" weekend in Santa Barbara. When we politely asked what that was, she became defensive and obnoxious in her tone. We decided to seek another hotel nearby. Obviously we were curious what this "Fiesta" weekend was and after Googling it realized it was more like a "Spring break". So in retrospect we are glad that Best Western chose to cater to drunk twenty somethings over a quiet family because we wouldn't have been much fun to them anyway.

I travel often with my husband. We like to leave after work to break the travel time into two days. When we are ready to stop for the night, we look for a Best Western. We have always depended on their name for clean comfortable rooms and professional polite staff. After this past weekend, I had a very bad experience that was compounded by staff actions. I will never stay at a Best Western again. The name doesn't indicated quality to me anymore. This corperation is just like so many, after they have their reputation of being a good dependable chain, they lose sight on their customers, knowing they'll always be more. I called the corperate office to inform them, they offered me a $50 coupon off our next stay, but I declined, I will not be using their chain agaon. My husband and I are both medical professional. I suggest going to a Holiday Inn. They have good service that we expect.

My family & I stayed at Best Western in Council Bluffs, Iowa July 13 & 14, 2012. The hotel was clean for the most part, but they had repairs on restrooms by front office so you had to walk around to find another one. The door keys seldom worked, we ended up with 6 keys! The hallways were hot and smelled like smoke. No elevators. The hot tub was closed for repairs, which it looked like it had been closed for a very long time. My son's restroom in his room smelled like sewage. I have health issues and this hotel was not accommodating at all. The housekeepers spoke no English so it was difficult to get any information from them or help, they just shook their heads at us! The pool was nice but lucky if you had towels available, then when asking the front desk for more they said housekeeping didn't have any at that time. We went to Earlham, Iowa for the warrior dash so we had to drive almost 2 hours to stay in a hotel that we thought would be nice. I'm not looking for a free hotel voucher from this hotel as we will never stay in another Best Western again. When my husband and son checked in, my son told them how unhappy he was to learn the hot tub was closed & that we wouldn't have stayed there if we knew that in advance, the clerk didn't seem to care at all. They also had asked for ground floors as my health issues make it difficult to climb stairs, but again the clerk didn't seem to care. Good luck with this hotel. And to anyone thinking about staying at Best Western in Council Bluffs, Iowa.....sleep in your car!!!

To Whom it may Concern; I would like to take a few minutes to express so of many disappointments that I had with my stay at Best Western Monroe Inn & Suites in Williamstown NJ (1151 north bhp)..I made reservations a week prior to my stay, and I was told to call the day before to see if I could get into my room early, because my husband and I were celebrating our 1year wedding anniversary and just wanted to get a night to ourselves. I purchased the Cloud Nine Package Includes:(on july 1st,2012) Deluxe Accommodations in our Romantic Hot Tub Suite with a cozy Fireplace Dinner for 2 at Library IV ($50 Gift Certificate) Special Gift Basket: two champagne flutes, bottle of sparkling cider, romantic candle and relaxing bubble bath Indoor Pool and Fitness Center Complimentary Breakfast Late Check Out till 2:00 PM Sunday to Thursday $209; Friday and Saturday $239 I paid good money for this package, and I felt that the staff at this location was very rude and ignorant and had a bad attitude, because they were frustrated because they were sold out and packed because of a storm which left many of us without power. however that shouldn't be an excuse, when I called to see when exactly I could get into my room I had my head bit off by management, and was yelled because called early as requested by management to see when my room was going to be ready, also I credit card was ran more then once with the purchase of my room and I was told that I needed to take it up with the credit card company or the bank they can't do anything.. do feel that since it was the mistake of the Best Western they should of been more understanding of the mistake that they made. Also I paid for my room and I was told check out was at 2pm, and at 10:30 house keeping was knocking on our door and rushing us out.. My stay was very disappointing and very uncomfortable to where both my husband and I couldn't even enjoy myself,I was so upset..To be treated with ignorance and disrespect after paying for a room $250.00 was very upsetting. If you choose to contact me and wana talk to me about this matter please be free to... LYNN MARGHILANO my email address is: lmmarghilano@comcast.net and my phone number is 856-803-6523 Thank you for taking the time out to read this.

On July 13, 2012. My husband and i stayed at the Best Western University Inn , Hammond , La. THE WORST. Housekeeping needed to be fired the bathroom needed a good cleaning, the room needed updating, T.V. went on and off , internet did not work. I ask them before we checked in if they had wi-fi they said yes..I called front desk later and ask if there was a problem and she said it comes and goes....PPl upstairs had kids they jumped and ran up and down the stairs most of the night. We stay at Best Westerns ALL the time and never had a problem with them...this one was the worst

We stayed at the I-68 And 225 Comfort Inn Dr , Morgantown WV 26508 July 13 to 14. The room was smelly (smoke and urine) and the rugs were dirty and covered with huge dark spots (all shades). The easy chair in the room was stained in almost 95% of its surface. When arrived at mid night with pre payment to ensure we have a room and were told the hotel was fully booked. This was the most disgusting experience I ever had. I told the night staff and the day staff when we checked out about the filthy room and it didn't get any apology or reaction. I also took photos of the filth in case any one needs to see what we had to put up with. We were on our way to a dear friend memorial services at Akron Ohio. I hope someone can read this and make sure others don't have to put up with this filthy room ever !!!!

To Whom It May Concern: On May 20, 2012 I booked two rooms for July 13 at the Best Western West Towne Suites in Madison, WI. The lady who took my reservation was very abrupt, as I noted in an email to a friend the day I made the reservation. She didn't take his name, as he was to use the second room, and didn't offer to send a confirmation of the reservation by email or any other form of communication. Nonetheless, when I arrived on July 13 the same lady couldn't find my reservation. After further checking, however, she said that my reservation was for JUNE 13 [not July 13 as I had requested]. Moreover, she said that when I didn't appear on June 13, the company charged my credit card for the two room amount--$206--and, as far as they were concerned that ended the affair. When I said my reservation was for July 13, the lady said, "You must be in error, because we never make mistakes." Thus the company was unwilling to cancel the $206 charge. We ultimately spent the evening there since it was too late to switch, but I feel ripped off at losing $206 and also the arrogance of their attitude in saying the mistake was in no way their responsibility. To make matters right, I want my original money returned and an apology for the way the matter was handled. The name of the offending company was Best Wester West Towne Suites, Madison, WI. The general manager is Randee Talwar. Thank you for your attention to this complaint. Donald Hahn

Just spend the weekend at the Best Western in Victor, NY for a family wedding. Not only were the rooms expensive it ended up costing us an extra $100 (of which one of the cleaning people stole out of my purse). I can't believe the hotel manager wouldn't compensate us for anything. I guess they don't care that their employees are going into people's rooms and stealing their money. I didn't want anyone in my room to begin with. This is ridiculous that they didn't even offer to take care of even one night of our stay or offer us a room in the future. Any other hotel would have done something to make their customers happy. Never ever am I staying at a Best Western again and I will make sure the rest of our family and friends know about this.

I reserved 2 rooms on July 7th with Best Western,Galveston, TX, and the General Manager-Siddie Greider and Assistant Manager'sB.J.Henderson that you have in place at this hotel made this the worst experience i have ever gone through. First of all i will NEVER stay at Best Western again because of your management. we were embarassed and treated with utter disrepect. when we were staying at the galveston hotel, after putting all of our personal belongings in one of the rooms, we proceeded to leave and go to dinner, when we returned to the hotel, one of the room key demagenitized,so we went to get it fixed. at 11 pm at night, after attemting 3 or more times, the only clerk at the hotel, said the the battery for the door was dead and master lock was gone from the door. this went on until 5 oclock in the morning, and was assured that the rooms would be refunded. then when we were ready top check out the gm - siddie greider was the worst manager that anybody would have to deal with. she told me to take it up with pruceline in a very ugly and hateful manner, so i did, and got someone on the phone to speak with her and she lied and said she already spoke with priceline and said that our rooms would be rebated. but it turns out that she lied and never called priceline just to get us to leave the hotel. now i have charged for both rooms! the is unexceptable and best western should not have this kind of management in place!

i live locally in palm springs california i went there after work to get a room for the nite so i could go out for the nite & have drinks & not have to worry about driving, well much to my suprise i was told they dont book rooms for local people ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!! is my money not the same as other people or what this is the best western Las Brisas on indian canyon in palm springs get the word out.Absolutly Ridiculous.

Please disregard complaint from 7/8/2012...She's afraid of being fired or worse

I stayed at the Best western Marina Grand in Corpus Christi, Texas. The stay was good until I checked out. When leaving I overlooked my company ID. I called the hotel and reported to them what had happen. After I called back, the morning manager said that it was found. I told them to overnight ship it back to me. They said that they could do that. I fully expected to pay for them to mail it back to me, what I didn't expect or permit them to do was to make an unauthorized charge to my company credit card, and to charge me one price when the post office charged a lower price. I gave them my personal credit card info(yes I know the risk) but since it was my fault for the left ID, I would accept the charge to MY card, not the company's!! Well lets say that the hotel is a bad example of customer service at its best. I would say they took advantaged of a customers mistake and made a profit from it. I would say that $11.00 to go to the post office is a little steep. on top of the postal charge of $18.95. A case of predatory charging and almost credit card fraud. Although I was told they did not do that. A good lesson for the hotel would be to tell the customer up front that a fee will be included with the postal fees, of which THEY DID NOT DO!!!! Also the hotel needs to learn how to deal with customers that are unhappy with what ever is wrong, instead they took the position "tuff luck" Obviously I will not stay at another Best western property in the future.

To Bad you do not get to choose negative numbers. We stayed at the Seven Seas facility in San Diego June 28th. The room was hot, dirty, orange mold in bathroom, counter tops coming up,no switch plates over outlets. The linen were from another decade. Gouges around the door.Broken steps. Best Western was chosen because of what I thought was a standard of quality. Wrong-I was given a discount (minimal) and an apology by the poor desk clerk but that did not make up for the poor quality. After reading the above horror stories I think we were lucky to stay in a "good" place.

I was implanted with a device and have MRI's to prove it. People are being terrorized audditorilly. Someone is putting me to sleep in a hotel I work at in West Texas, owner Bhakta. They are injecting my flesh with steroids and doing bad things to me. I cant go to law in town due to them hearing me and kidnapping me from the hotel I work at. I need silent help.
