This is the second year in a row that I have not received my birthday certificate. I have emailed your Chef's Table twice and not received a response. I'm not sure why you offer these certificates if you do not follow through and send them. I am very annoyed and now the month of November has ended and still nothing.

I am so surprised at the above comments regarding the birthday certificate. I requested my certificate the end of July for an August 8th birthday and I received it in my email on August 2nd! I wasn't even sure I was going to receive it on time so I was quite surprised and very pleased that I did.

Hi, I tried to use Benihana birthday certificate last week at a Benihana's, but I was told I could not use this as the code has already been used before. I have no knowledge of who could have used this code before, I was going to a Benihana's for the first time in my life, so I have no idea how this happened. It was very embarassing to be told this in front of the other customers with whom we were sharing a table and I had to leave the table with my wife after ordering our food and our salad was brought in. Please provide me an explanation as to how this could happen and I need to be compensated accordingly for this was no mistake of mine.

They won't send me my birthday coupon, yet I signed up for (and receive all their spam email). What am I getting in return for all these emails? The waitress said I would get a $30.00 birthday coupon! Yet when I call, nobody answers... unreal.

trying for days to obtain a birthday$30.00 gift certificate for my sister. who does NOT OWN A PC. I had my birthday @ the restaurant last month and was satisfied. my guests at my party said. "what a terrific idea, how can we do that ? " etc. so I mentioned 'how'.. To whom this may concern: I placed a reservation at the 23611 Chagrin Blvd., Cleveland, OH 44122 location on the 18th of january for my father's 60th birthday the following Thursday 1/27/11, i was put on hold for a little while and a manager cleared my reservation for Thursday January 27th at 7:30 for a party of 14 people. The gentleman on the phone was very nice and wished my fatgher a happy birthday. However when my party arrived tonite January 27,2011 at 7:00pm , half an hour early for our reservation we were told by a very rude front of the house lady( i did not catch her name)that we could not be seated as we were early for our "reservation". That was fine we let her know that we will be happy to wait to be seated as we were early. as 7:30 passed and i asked her about the reservation that we set she ignored me and proceded to argue with another customer , the party that was scheduled for 7:00 that the restauraunt and bar are full and they will need to wait for thier reservation to be seated?? I asked her again on how long before we could be seated and she told me that we will need to wait for the 7:00 patry to be seated before we can be seated, by then it was 7:45, when 8:00 had rolled around I asked her why is it that i had to make a reservation a week in advance for my party of 14(Ido understand that this is a large group for any restauraunt to accomodate) when the reservation would not be honored when we got there, she simply said , "you need to understand that it is not your turn. At this point I have had about enough of her unprofessionalism and crudeness,. THIS LADY HAS NO BUSINESS WORKING THE FROUNT OF ANY RESTAURAUNT.She is the main reason that i decided to take my party elsewhere.While in the lobby I placed a call to Bahama Breeze, a restauraunt across the street and they promised that i could be seated in the time it would take my party to get there. needless to say we left the restauraunt. This was our first impression of your restaurant and will not be returning. As we were leaving the reastaurant , the manager offered me various discounts and offers for gift cards.I politely declined and thanked him for his time. I did recieve a call from the manager, (i think) apologizing, and to see if he could offer to mail me gift cards and discounts. at this point all i can ask him for is to get a better fronnt of the house attendant and teach them to be courteous the customers , weather it is one person or 20. no one should be made to wait half an hour past thier reservations, and trated as rudley as we were treated. I have recieved better service from Mcdonalds on w.25th in the ghetto of cleveland. I hope that you do not take this as an insult , but as an oppourtunity to better your service at this location. I signed up for the Birthday dinner for my fiance a while before his Birthday as I was told that I would receive an e-mail for him. When I did not receive it I called the local office in TROY MICHIGAN (The state with the worst economy) and asked what I could do...they informed me that I would not get the certificate until about six weeks from today 01-13-2011 and keep in mind my fiance's Birthday is tomorrow the 14th with 30+ guests! YOU GUYS DON'T DESERVE THE MONEY THAT YOU WILL GET FROM MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS TOMORROW although I will still be dinning there because I am not going to cancel my party because of your companies mishap! My husband and I had a very disappointing experience at Benihana in Edison,(Menlo Park)NJ. We went for lunch on Sunday, Oct, 31 and were seated at a table with 1 other couple. When the chef came out with and started to cook the rice, the other couple decided that it was not enough and ordered 2 extra portions. It took a while for the waitress to come back to the table so the chef could tell her to bring more rice. Then,a kitchen aide came back with only 1 portion, which he was quickly told by the chef that he needed two and again was sent back to the kitchen. When he came back with 2 portions he forgot the bowls and was sent back to the kitchen again. All this time the chef is mixing up the rice and noodles slowing the progression of the cooking process. The chef quickly mixed the "regular" portions of the rice with the additional and filled the extra bowls with a heaping amounts and proceeded to serve the remainder to the other couple and then to myself and my husband. We received such a small amount that it was ridiculous, probably about 2 tablespoons. On top of that the other couple got extra noodles so we received a smaller portion of the noodles as well. I complained to the waitress, who got the manager. I was told that corporate had been in the restaurant lately and decided the portions should be cut down. The woman of the other couple stated to me they come there frequently and knew the rice portion was too small and that they charge $4-$5 extra for the additional bowls of rice. The vegetable was also downsized. I thought the $11.95 lunch was worth about half of that amount with the small portions. What was intended as a treat lunch for Halloween turned out to be a Halloween trick,to say the least.

Hello- Me and my family of four was a guest in the coral springs location on 10-24-10 at about 2:30pm. We visit Benihana's very often and we have had different chefs to cook for us and each one has a different approach on entertaining the guest. However on this occasion me and my family was very disrespected by the chef and he never entertain my family at all and on the times that he did communicate with us it was just to insult us. The table consists of a family that spoke Spanish the entire time that we were there he carried on a conversation with that family because they shared the language but they also spoke good English. It was like me and my family were not at the table he never asked us how we would like our food prepared he only took orders of cooking styles from the Spanish family. She told him how to make our vegetables for the rice without asking do we have a preference before doing it. We had to ask the male that bring the drinks out to bring us onions for our rice simply because he mixed all the veggies together. I have never dined at this place where they cooked all the vegetables together. The chef turned to our family and begins to hit on of the females when he asks the male that she was with was she his niece or sister? And her boyfriend told him no this is my girlfriend. He continues to flirt with the girl which made members of the family very unhappy. He later turns back to ask my husband where are you from Haiti? What type of racist question is that it was very degrading the way he presented as if he was from Haiti it was just a bad place we were very offended by is questions and treatment of disrespect. He was rude to us; he only catered to his culture at the table. He treated us very bad the dining experience was very unfair and I will never look at your company the same. I have referred several of my friends to your so called "Birthday Club", yet no one has received their coupon. No one at corporate seems to care, either. Wow. I visit your restaurant at least once a week in Pittsburgh Pa. My husband and I recently purchased four gift cards that totaled $200.00. You were having a promotion that if you purchase these gift cards you would receive $40.00 in gift cards. I went to use them the other day and was told that they expired. I feel as if i should of been told that these gift cards expire in a couple months when i purchased them. They asked me to write to you and maybe you would send us a gift card that equaled $40.00. I am very very disappointed with the way I have been treated, from the Restaurant in Coral Springs to your Corporate office. At the beginning of the month I invited eight members of my family to join us at Benihana's to for my Husband's Birthday. I know I was going to get the Birthday e-mail because last year after our birthdays I applied for it on line. When I didn't receive it by May 14th I went over to the restaurant and told them what happened. They asked me if I applied for both of them on the same e-mail page. I told them I did. They told me that it didn't go through because you can't apply for two on the same e-mail address. How was I suppoised to know that. That is a crazy policy if you don't tell anyone about it. She told me to re-apply and I will get it, but I probably will not get it until June. My husband doesn't want to celebrate his May birthday in June. We celebrte our Wedding Anniversary in June not his Birthday. I have tried to call you many many many times, but every time I called, including today, I always get a message that says the mail box is full. Me as a customer is very very disappointe in the way this was handled. My husbands Birthday is this week-end and he likes to celeprate on his birthday not in June.
