If I could give them a negative rating I would. I have a HSA account and needed my money to pay for a medical procedure. It took a week to speak to a real person. Once I did she told me I had to fax her a copy of my ID and signature which I did. I NEVER heard from her again. Apparently she had questions and called my previous employer who set up the account. I was no longer working there and they called me wondering why they were being asked to verify my PERSONAL account. She refused to speak with me and never returned my calls or emails. I finally decided to try to send myself a check via online bill pay. I did this over a week ago. To date I have NOT received my money. I will NEVER EVER EVER EVER use this bank again and I will warn others against it too. NOTE: I'm on the phone with them right now and they are now telling me they can't do a bill pay with the HSA. I'm in Nevada and there are NO branches near me. I was told my money was being sent to me a week ago.

Their customer service for mortgages, online or at their 800 # is pathetic. They bounce you around on the phone and don't respond relevantly online, and this was to help me get their computer to accept my payment !! I'd hate to see their service if it was something else I was asking to do.

0 stars! I have never experienced so many problems in my life. Every step of the processes that I have had to deal with has been completely messed up, constant mistakes were made and I was never able to speak with a supervisor. The supervisor was always out of the office. I literally tried to contact him 47 times with no luck. I hate this bank!!

Have been unsatisfied since I began with bb&t. they process automatic payments before they are supposed to and surprise! hit me with an overdraft charge even though they are the ones that made the mistake. Also, with the online tracking of my account, have discovered on several occasions that they say I have more money than I actually do. Usually around $100 or more. Thinking that I made a mistake and have this money, I spent it, which they allowed me to do and surprise! Hit with more overdraft charges when a few days later they correct it. My question is, are they really that stupid or that smart? Are they hiding money when doing this or are their practices so crooked that they mess up on purpose just to generate more money with fees? Either way, they are shady and/or incompetent.

On last Thursday, I applied for an account with BB&T over the phone. I spoke with the representative & she notified me after the account had been signed up for, that I would need to go to my local branch & make a deposit. On Monday, 04/25/11, I went to the local branch & deposited cash into my Business savings account & deposited my clients checks into the business checking account. I attempted to signup for online banking on Tuesday, but I was told that I had to go into the branch to allow a customer service rep to assist me. When I went into the branch on Wednesday, I was told there was a block on my account for the second time (the first block was because there were no funds into the account.) Come to find out that BB&T does a what they call a soft scub on the chexsystems to get you approved. After you make a deposit that's when they do the actual check through the chexsystem & let you know if you truly are eligible. Well as you can guess I found out that I was not approved & that the checks I deposited into the business checkings account would not be available to me within 5-10 business days. I had to get on the phone & call corporate & the regional branch manager. I notified them that the process was screwed up & that I should've been notified about the soft scrub & their process, but they had no problem depositing the money. The money I deposited is for a clients catering event & I would be in a bind if I don't have the funds asap. Finally, I spoke with corporate & the regional manager. The regional manager finally released the money for me to pick up at the local branch.

I am a Handicapped Person with Va. Handicap Plates, I was unable to find a parking place at the medical bldg next to BB&T banking. However, there was plenty of oper parking for BB&T customers which I used -- not nothing they would have my vehicle towed which they did...at a cost of $120.00. My husband spoke with the manager, Ms. Tina Townsend Ryan. Her comment was that had she came into the bank, we would not have called the towing company. My husband stated that in Virginia, if a handicapped person can not park in a handicap spot, then any parking is authorized. Ms Ryan didn't agree. We will never recommend this bank to anyone for lack of caring..handicap or not.

I have been trying to get approved by BB&T BANK in Waldorf Md since november 2010 the bank didnt even put the paper work in till january 2011.And now it APRIL 2011 and the bank still given us the run a round.I have two accounts with BB$ T AND consideering to close my accounts with them. There service is unacceptable for a bank.

BB&T in dallas, on stemmons freeway accepts the marticular Consular cards issued by consulates of other countries that are not even LEGAL ID's in that country. What a disgrace. BB&T should not be allowed to do this and people should find a bank or credit union that does not and will not accept these cards as ID's

The male teller at the Port Charlotte, Florida branch on Cochran Rd. I rude, slow, arrigant. Although I don,t have much, I will remove my monies from this bank!

They are very hard to contact in the corporate office if you have any questions or concerns outside of the canned knowledge most branches. They also have poor online banking and questionable internal account processing practices.

Extremely hard to talk with anyone and resolve problems. This website is the only one that gave me a phone number, the BB&T bank website does not and all the other numbers are useless, not of the options addressed the problem.Finally reached a regional manager and he was very,very helpful!!
