Ann Taylor LOFT in Birmingham, AL opened up a couple months ago so I went in looking to find some pants due to my loss of thirty pounds with my entire closet not fitting. I was greeted with a genuine hello and a heads up on their sale for the day and luckily the pants were on sale! I had a fitting room started within five minutes of being there and she never let my hands get full. She also suggested the type of pant she thought would better fit my figure, Julie. After finding the perfect pants, we shopped for tops, jewelry, scarves, etc to complete my new LOFT look! I recommend the Summit store to everyone! Best in town!

I walked into the Loft in the Bowie Towne center and met upon a young lady of the name of Christina she was polite and helped me to find an outfit for my job interview her persistence and determination stole my attention . I hope we have more employees working there I now go inside that store and ask for this employee. Great customer service at the Bowie Towne center !

I have been shopping at Ann Taylor and Loft for years. This summer, EVERY SINGLE knit shirt I bought was lost to 4-5 tiny holes at the belly button. Many on the FIRST time I wore it!!!! Within hours, these holes develop. I have done nothing new or changed anything that might cause this. What is worse, when I voiced my irritation to friends and family (about 10 people) they had the same exact problem!! All from Ann Taylor and Loff. Coincidence? I think not. All of my other shirts from other places are just fine. Please fix this problem AT!!

I had a similar problem as one of the customers above. I called the customer service line after purchasing an item 8 minutes prior (I was on hold 8 minutes)and requested to either change or cancel the order. I was told it was impossible by both the customer service person and their supervisor. Interestingly enough, I work for a giant retailer with a huge online presence and KNOW that it is not impossible. Both of the people I spoke to were the most apathetic, poor representation of a company that there could possibly be. They were not even apologetic or offered other solutions. After being a LOFT customer for many years and literally spending thousands and thousands of dollars in the store and online, I will return my item once received and never buy another thing. You would think that in the competitive world of retail that LOFT would attempt to TRY to please their customers instead of repel them, but clearly that is not the case.

Why the change in the return policy? I shopped at Ann Taylor Loft for a very long time and I am very dissatisfied with the new policy of wanting ID as well as the right to limit returns. They are going to lose many customers, including me. I think this policy should be reviewed if they want to keep their business and have it grow

Interestingly enough, in June, I wrote about LOFT's decline in quality and their implementation of less customer oriented policies. Now they require photo ID even when you have a valid receipt, and they "reserve the right" to limit returns. I think I am finished with LOFT and will shop at Banana Republic, J Crew, Nordstrom where I feel I am valued as a customer. How much business is LOFT losing to their competitors with their rigid policies???

The Stony Brook Village store has some of the rudest associates, I've seen in a long time. The manager feels likes she's doing you a huge favor if you ask her for help. I will be taking my business to Chico's and other village favorites for all my future shopping.Such a shame.

9:45pm, 25.Aug.11I tried to read your review, but the link took me to a rcpiee for three cheese stuffed shells with meaty tomato sauce.{}10:13 pm, 25.Aug.11, Argh! Thanks for letting me know. I fixed it. Incidentally, we had those stuffed shells sans meat for dinner. It was good. I should have stayed off the Internet today. Between a hacked site, database problems, and now this, it was enough to make me go off the grid forever. Of course I am typing this one-fingered on my space age phone (in bed).{}

Your flowers are idencrible. I'm so happy for your success .If I ever get to an Ann Taylor store anytime soon, I'll be looking for your flowers. Hard to get away when you're self-employed. I actually co-own a boutique flowers shop in downtown Yonkers called Fly Me To The Moon Florists. We deliver flowers to Riverdale.

All of the NEW managers at Bridgewater/LOFT should be fired. They are completely clueless, have no style, and are nasty to the customers. They like to pick their favorite employees and the rest are conveniently removed from the schedule so that they can leave on their own. Do not apply at this store for work. The managers are very stuck-up and conceited. Again, the company lets the managers do what they want to the employees. Store is dirty and they make the employees clean it. The managers walk around and are full of themselves, if you are not a favorite they harrass you on the salesfloor.

I have never asked to use a bathroom in the employee only section of any store, do you Connie also ask to go into the back and use the restrooms at shoe stores and luggage stores. If anyone is to use the restroom in the backroom of a store, they are opening themselves up to liability if you or your daughter are injured...there are many things stacked and rolling shelves ..ect. employees are covered by workman's comp..you are not. Also, anyone using the restroom in the back must be accompanied by a member of the sales staff for however long it takes and this is a LP problem with store coverage, many times stores are staffed with just enough personnel to cover the registers and the fitting rooms, but I suppose every other client should just have to wait because you couldn't walk an extra 20 yards or so to take your daughter to the public restroom. I have let clients use our restroom under certain circumstances..they were ill..elderly..pregnant..ect. or at times when we had extra coverage or low volume. Being inconvenienced Connie is part of life, maybe next time you will take your 4 year old to the potty before you drag her around to shop for yourself.

I like the clothing and buy one pant, one dress. But I don't like the service. Very uncomfortable and mean.

As a Fashion Consultant, I was doing some homework for a client, and checking out the Ann Taylor Loft. I left being so disgusted. The customer service there was horrible, nobody ever approached me the entire time I was there, and I did buy something, but the gal that checked me out was so cold towards me. I completely regretted my purchase. The women that worked there were so friendly with their customers, so I figured that they were just trying to keep their own customers happy. The item that I got was not a good fit for me, so I went to return it, and got just as poor customer service as the first time. The girl was a jerk to me while telling me that the item I had was not something that could be returned because it's a final sale item.(Fine, but didn't appreciate the attitude that came with it) I get the feeling that unless you look older, and look like you have a lot of money, the women that work there don't pay any attention to anyone else. With that said, they need to adjust their sales attitude, and realize that young women like me, are future buyers of expensive designer and high end clothing. As a future buyer, and Fashion Consultant for women who do have money, I will never do business with Ann Taylor Loft ever in the future, and I will tell everyone and anyone who will listen, not to do business with them. I will also continue to tell my clients not to do business with them.

ANN TAYLOR was a FIVE No longer ... Blind Lady kicked out of store with her service animal was bad. THEN Ann Taylor response that blind woman came in door and dog was not on a leash! RIDICULOUS ............ How did she make it into the store without the bridle? SHE IS BLIND! So is our relative. Total purchases in 2011 at Ann Taylor was $2137.00. That is just us. Goodbye

Wanted to agree with the other comments about fabric quality. I get so disappointed when I purchase a cute top (lots of ruffled tanks) and after the second or third wash, they start to get pills -- I hate that! Also, the tshirts are too thin. Period. And I never thought about it before, but it is true that the promotions are out of control... it does get confusing. ALSO (and I am almost done), I hate the shoes they offer. Cheapy feeling and uncomfortable. Why can't they offer nicer quality, especially considering the prices??

I have absolutely no complaints about our Brandon, Florida Loft. Customer service is wonderful. My first real shopping experience with them I was exhausted, frustrated and desperate. My daughter suggested I go to the Loft and a little while after walking through the door, I had non invasive, no pressure, sales help. When I expressed my gratitude and explained what my experience had been so far, they got me a bottle of water and I was able to settle in and find what I needed. 500 dollars later, and ready to attend the weekend event I was frantically shopping for (plus a few other fun things) I walked out a happy and satisfied lady. I have been a loyal customer ever since. I have been less impressed with the website however.

I have shopped with the AnnTaylor brand of stores for nearly 20 years and for most of that time have had enjoyable experiences. I especially admired the brands commitment to empowering women and embracing opportunities that further the advancement of equal opportunities for all women. About 6 months ago I found myself in need of a part-time job in order to supplement my income. Since I have retail experience, I applied to my local Loft store and was hired. After an initial honeymoon phase, I have become so disillusioned with the company and their treatment of their hourly employees. The company promotes themselves as committed to the average woman, yet when it comes to their own employees, they possess not a shred of commitment or loyalty. After receiving a stellar 6 month review, I received an 8 cent per hour raise, bringing my hourly wage to $7.84 an hour. Sales associates are required to sell a minimum of 1 store credit card per shift and are usually reprimanded if that goal is not reached. The reason for this is that a customer with a store credit card is likely to spend an average of $300.00 mor then a customer using cash or other credit card. The store that I work at has been especially pushed to sell the Loft card. In a recent email to her stores, the district manage stated that all associates were expected to repeatedly ask the customer to apply and should not stop until 3 "no" responses were received from the customer. Furthermore, and most upsetting to me personally, was this instruction; ". If the customer objects to getting a credit card because here husband would get mad, ask her "well, doesn't your husband want you to save money?". Does this sound like a company committed to women to you?

Do not shop at AT Mayfair. Michelle, the manager, is plain rude. How old is she, 19? How about her assistant, another 19 year old with a nose ring? What happened to your seasoned staff? The store is a disasster. It looks worse than Forever 21. AT corporate, have you visited this store lately? I can't stand to shop there anymore.

Why has AT selected two poor celebrities as their past models-Kate Hudson who has had a boob job and Demi Moore who . . . say no more? Can't AT afford better celebrities? What about Kate's book popping out of the blue silk shirt? Give me a break? And, her scrappy looking hair? Come on AT.

Loft quality has declined --- too much synthetics are used. Loft personnel aren't trained well. The constant promotions are great, but it's annoying to pay full price and then see it on promo the very next day when LOFT will NOT price adjust. I have had good customer service and poor customer service which mostly depends upon the staff. In general, LOFT has become less service oriented with all the policy changes and this is a problem when I can shop at other more service friendly stores.
