I purchased a dresser and mirror set from American Freight Furniture Store in Livonia MI on 8-20-10 and the GM Jeremiah told me that they had my set in Grand Rapids and that they were going to ship my order to me on Friday 8-27-10. On my delivery date I did not hear anything from the company and I called the office to see when my furniture will be delivered and Sales Guy Robert Thomas said that they never even sent in the order and they ordered a head board and dresser that was not my original order. They said that they had to re-order my purchase and it will take 3 weeks. Not only did they lie to me that they had it in stock for me to pay for the furniture they did not have any intentions on getting me my furniture on time... I was going to go to Value City because they had the same dresser set for $100 more. I waited two weeks I finally got my dresser and mirror but the delivery guy did not get to my house until 10:30 pm at night. I am a single parent that is dangerous. After the deliver guy came to the house I opened up the box and immediately noticed that there was a huge dent and crack on the front of the dresser. The delivery guy said that I would have to take that up with the manager and they will switch it out with no problems. The next day I requested to speak to the manager and he gave me the run around sent me back to the sales person and he said that it will take another two weeks to order my furniture. I was upset, I called to the store in Ann Arbor on 9-10-10 and they had the same dresser that the store clerk claimed that they did not have anywhere else. I told the sales guy that if I did not have my furniture by sat 9-11-10 I will cancel my order and get my money back. He promised me that it would be delivered on Saturday and I did not receive a call or my furniture I was highly upset. I went up there on Sunday 9-12-10 and they were closed they did not even call me to let me know the status of my furniture. After googling the company I have found a lot of websites saying that this company is a scam. I have damaged furniture that they delivered and they do not want to replace it or give me my money back.

The Akron Ohio site does a terrible job. I purchased a complete living room set and had to wait nearly 3 months just to receive my chair...which we then had to go in and pick up ourselves only after I called frustrated after months of not hearing back from the store. Good customer service would have included frequent calls to me to let me know the status of the chair and why it was taking so long. Especially since it was merchandise I had already paid for and was not in my possession. We immediately had problems with the chair and took it back in. They tightened some bolts and said that they would order a new frame to fix the issue. Months have passed and we haven't heard a word. Today, our chair broke and when I called in the manager, Mike Switzer was trying to blow me off saying that he tried to call months ago and he didn't have a good number for me. Lie number 1 ~ when we were in there with the chair, we had accidentally off-loaded something from our truck and within a few minutes of leaving, they called immediately and asked if we wanted it. #2 my phone number has been the same for 3 years. #3 my number has never been suspended or shut off. 4th ~ Who in the world tells customers to tie the chair shut to hold it closed??? SERIOUSLY? I served in the US Army for 13 years and travelled the world. I've NEVER seen such terrible customer service or experienced such an UNPROFESSIONAL manager in my life. I truly believe that this company is trying to get around the warranty we were promised. I will NEVER purchase from this company again and you can thank Mike Switzer for that! I will tell EVERYONE that I know what poor customer service they have and what poor quality the furniture is that they sell. I'm appaulled, Laura RUFF

There sell's pitch are very sly. My individual salesman was very unprofessional and rag me up for a bill of $500+, without my actual consent to purchase some items. I left buying more than I had even asked for, did not view my items before they were shipped and did not even sign my initials on the receipt to comply with incoherent regulations. My mattress purchased has already started concave, which causes pain for my back, within one week. I called to ask for a courtesy upgrade for a more firm mattress to only be put down by the same salesman who stated verbatim "you said that you didn't care about the quality and that you wanted the cheapest mattress...yes, it is normal for the bed to bend like that". No one, I repeat, no one should ever purchase anything from American Freight, period!

I visited the American Freight store in Syracuse on Eire Blvd and I meet one of the most outstadning sales rep, Ambrose. He helped me so much finding the right furniture to fit my home, color, and even delivery. Since then I have been to the store many times for my freidns, and each time if he is not there, we leave. I only will buy if he is there, I really dont trust the others. Ambrose made my shopping experience so much better that I trust his choices implicitly

Dont buy from American Freight your furniture will break within 6 weeks and then you are left with nothing.

America Freight company sucks I hate the company and there poor customer service and customer promise very poor.

I purchased a sectional from American Freight in Ocala Florida ...had thought id have this for a few years as expected from any furniture...to my disappointment 3 months later the furniture is coming unthreaded in 2 dif areas, I called them to see about replacing the defective cushions and the manager of the store argued with me saying that my extended warranty doesnt cover such a defect. I dont care about the warranty covering it, they should replace it since it was an issue with their poor crafting.

If I ever find their announcer I'm going to cut his throat. I'm not deaf and he is going to shut up.

I purchased a couch from the 6969 brookpark location and I was promised my couch in 2 hous. Its been 5 hours and no call. After reading online about this company, I know I am in for an ordeal and out 400 bucks. I will be storming the place I purchased this tommorrow as soon as they open. If I get no luck, I will be contacting Carl Monday from the local news and I will see I get something free or my money returned. Sorry for anyone that believed in this company, and now I am a victim as well, Henry Benz.

I spent $2,300.00 on furniture at your American Freight Store @ Washtenaw, Ann Arbor. I purchased a 3pc living room set, and I informed them that I wanted all 3pcs delivered at the same time, the store mgr informed me that the recliner was being shipped and it should be in by June 17th (Devon Jones Store Manager) he convinced me to get the 2pcs because it would only be a 2 week delay, he also stated that if the driver scratched it to call him immediately and inform him of the situation, and have them take it back, I looked out the window and I saw that the drivers placed the furniture on the concrete on the leather side, once it was picked up from the concrete it was already scratched, they weren't careful bringing it up the made a hole on the love seat and scratch the big sofa, I told the driver what they did, the drivers said that they ain't taking it back to call them and have the store manager send someone else to do it because Its heavy furniture and I live in a 3rd floor. So I called Devon and he told me that since the recliner would be in 2 weeks that he'll replace the 2pcs once he delivers the recliner. it has been close to a month (3 days for the month) and now that Devon has been transferred to a different store I had to go and talk to the new Manager by the name of Mike. He told me to call him today June 14th and for my surprise it was his day off, why would he tell me to call him if he won't be there. I'm sick and tired of the run around. I'm tired of being taken advantage of because I'm a single female, If I have to take this company to court I will. I have a copy of this complaint and I hope to hear from someone in the American Freight Corporate Headquarter.
