Hello - I went to your store on Morse road to look at sofas and recliners. I found some pieces I really liked and asked my husband to come and take a look. After walking around with Derrick and asking questions - we decided on a L-Shapped black sofa priced at 798.00, the 198.00 ottoman/coffe table and a recliner priced at 398.00 - It took us a while to decide - this is sorta a big purchase. My husband wanted to take one more look at 498.00 sofa just to make sure before putting it on layaway (we have to sell our set first before bringing a new set in.) As he was looking at the couch - the guy behind the counter - surfing the internet - said to my husband "Man - your really picky !!" My husband asked "Are you talking about me ??" He said "Yeah - you don't like anything in the store - your very picky" - "We can't make a couch to custom what you like !" WHAT THE HECK !?!?! Who says THAT to a customer !! - My husband then said "Well - this is kind of a big purchase for our living room - I want to make sure I like it." The guy then said "Well - I guess - whatever !" My husband was to put off and pissed off by the guys attitude - he scooped up my son, looked at me and said "We are leaving - we are not buying anything from this store - that guy is a complete jerk" and walked out. I looked for Derrick to at least tell him we were not buying anything - to be fair to Derrick - its not his fault that his co-worker is a complete troll. And I told Derrick what happened. Not sure if Derrick works on commission - but if he did - his co-worker cost him at least a $1443.00 in a sale. (we decided to buy the 99.00 warranty on the couch.) I am not sure what your screening process is for hiring - but who ever hired that guy (did not get his name - but ask Derrick and the blond guy in the red shirt.) Needs to set higher standards. The guy needs moved from the front desk and into the back. If that is not possible - he needs to be told to keep his mouth shut and stop with the smart ass attitude. I am even more pissed because I FINALLY got my husband to agree to new furniture (took over a year) and we picked 3 pieces and then that guy had to ruin it by mouthing off. Stop hiring clowns to run the front desk !!!

i ordered a set of low profile box springs for a king size bed, they told me it will be in 2 weeks, so i waited and then called and ask where were my boxsprings at ? they said were not in yet so i waited another 2 weeks and called they said the were in and i could come pick them up when ever. so i went and got a truck to pick them up and they had the wrong kind of box springs they had 9 inch boxsprings instead of the low profile 5 inch ones i ordered, while i was in there one their employes reeked of pot and his eyes were so blood shot they looked like they were gonna pop out of his head and another employee was shouting at another customer for no reason. i went home and called corparate and filed a complaint telling them what was going on in their store the lady told me that their regional manager would call me and take care of it for me ....well he hasnt called yet..they need to drug test all of their employees and teach them what good customer service is.i will never do business with this half ass company again...they are are all a bunch of low life druggies with no training or education to speak ofnext i am filling a complaint with the better buisness bureua.

HORRIBLE!!!!! We bought a brand "new" bethroom set. When they delivered it, the mirrow was broken. I called Corporate and SUSAN BELTRAN was so trashy. She doesn't have any modals, very disrespectfull to the point that she hung up on me twice. She said that because the furniture has a discounted price, we were not suppouse to expect anything great. Because I called back again, since she disconnected the call. She said that she was GOING TO CALL THE POLICE!! Unbelievable! She overeacted for nothing,SO UNPROFFESIONAL wouldn't let me explain anything, said that she was the boss, and that I was going to get her everytime I call. What a trashy woman!! uggg!! NEVER EVER BUY AT THIS PLACE!!

I purchased a 7 piece bedroom set from American Freight (Sandlake Store in Orlando Florida). I paid for my purchace on Aug 10. They called about two weeks later to inform me my furniture had arrived. I picked it up and brought it home. After unpacking the furniture I noticed that the furniture was chipped on every drawer and there were two large scratches on the dresser and chest. The nightstand drawers did not even fit. The drawers were too small for the nightstand. The dresser drawers did not line up and if I opened one drawer, another drawer came with it. The very same day I called the store and explained my issue. They said they would order a new set for me. During this waiting period (which took over three weeks) I called the store 3 times to check on the status. I asked for the corporate number and was given their area director (I believe that is his title). I left 5 messages with the area director in over a 3 week period. I finally recieved a call back. All I was asking was for free delivery. The area director, along with the man at the store told me this could not happen. I finally got the deliver cut in half. Today (Sept 23) they asked if I would be home at 6 and the furniture would be delivered then. Well surprise surprise, at 805pm I get a knock at my door. They took our old furniture and brought the new pieces. The area director told me that they would open and inspect the furniture before delivered. This did not happen. All I did was open the dresser. It is 10 times worse than the first. The top of the dresser is not even connected. I can lift it off. It looks like they had dropped the dresser on the side and then tried to glue it back together. The drawers do not align, and when one drawer opens, so does another. I BETTER get my money back. This is rediculous. I have two step daughters, and all these boxes around the house are such a hazard. I wish I would have read these compaints before I purchased from there. Good luck to everyone else!

Do not buy from this company. They are a scam with horrible customer service. All they do is lie and take your money. I wish I would have read these reviews before I spent my money here.

I wish I'd read the reviews prior to going to American Freight in October 2010 to put a nice dining room table set on layaway. I made payments on the layaway until two weeks ago, and I was told that the table is not in stock and had to be ordered from the corporate warehouse. I contacted the store this week only to be told by the manager that the item is no longer available, and an upgrade for another table was not possible. Since I paid for a majority of my layaway with my bank debit card, I was told the money would be returned into my account within 3 business days. I also have to wait for 10 days before the cash payments are refunded in a company check. Biggest lie ever told because it's not in my account as of yet. I will never deal with AF again for the following reasons: 1) they allowed me to continue making layaway payments on a product they no longer carried in the store. What would have happened if I waited two years to pay out the layaway? 2) they take too long to process refunds. I just want my money back NOW!! 3) Corporate headquarters was not very helpful when I called them to express my disappointment. They're now shifting the blame on my bank procedures. No, it's not my bank this time. It's AF, and this company is full of lies. Bad business dealing. I'm taking my money (if I ever get it back) to a real furniture store with real business ethics. I don't mind paying higher if the service is worth it.

American freight furniture store #46 in Warren Michigan is a ripp off and someone needs to do something about it, they simply robbing people Like me and you. I bought a bedroom set and I have never received my nightstand I called the store and went up to the store same result. Return policy suck ass 6 weeks to refund your money if paid in cash but made me paid the full balance in the spot. Never shop there unless you wanna get robbed. Call fox2 or FBI on them

Yea I also have a complaint - I purchased my Love seat and Sofa at the 14 and Dequindre store in Warren Michigan. My sofa was damaged and the drivers said we will leave it so you have something to use because it will take 4 weeks for a new sofa. He called and I called 1 month later nothing 2 months nothing going into 3rd month OH yea we have one in stock so when did you call about your sofa being damaged? Like what? Well we have on here come and get or delivered at cost to you $85, I said a NO you take care of your customer by delivering it and pick up the damaged Sofa, answer we can't do that, Then give me $200 Bucks and I'll do something with the damage NO Sir can't do that, Well if I can come and get the new one I'm charging you for bring back the damaged Sofa, Oh we can't do that. Are you getting the picture here? So the last time he said I'll work on this and get this resolved in 48 hours. WELL IT'S BEEN THREE WEEK's. So now I think its time for the BBB to get involved and the Detroit Tv News HALL OF SHAME were the reporter gets in their face and its ALL OVER THE NEWS and people will know about them and they go out of business.

I went to American Freight in April of 2011 to purchase a 3 piece living room set... i ended up just getting the love seat and sofa couch. I placed the recliner on layaway at that time. i made my bi-weekly payments, until i was ready to pay for my chair and leave with it. Well on both trips that i made to the store my recliner was not in stock. On both occassions i was told that it was on the way. And while I am still waiting on the recliner to arrive, I recieve a text to my cell phone stating that my layaway is about to expire. So, I contact the store and told them my situation, i was assured that i could just come pick up my balance of $225.10. When I arrived at the store to pick it up there was a RUDE! store manager saying that i wasnt getting my money back, and that he had no number to anyone above him. Which is a total Slap in the face because the lie was uncalled for! Maybe i should have read Your ratings before stepping foot into any of Your establishments!! i will be telling any and everyone i come in contact with, NOT to purchase anything from either of your locations..

Let me start by saying if I could have put a rating of zero I would have. This company is a complete scam and anyone looking to shop with this company please don't they are nothing but scam artist. They tell you to pay right away and then when the product you are missing pieces. My number is 786 342 3455. I will also be filling a BBB complaint against your company.

American Freight will not do anything. I purchased a dining room set and a Tan bedroom set from American frieght. It was delivered at night and they left my Head board for my bedroom set. They came back and delivered the wrong one 2 days later.I called the store and the spoke with the store manager. He was so unprofessional and hung up the phone. I called coorporate and they were no better. No apology or anything so they will not do anything. I have contacted the Better Business So I will see what will be the outcome.

I purchased a bedroom set from the Ann Arbor, MI store and I never recieved my furniture. The sales guy stole my money and never put my information in the system. I have all the receipts that I was giving but they wil not give me my money back. I will be taking them to court! This is utterly ridiculous!

This company will lie to you and over charge you, the indivduals working the stores are liars and the corporate has been extremely rude. I would not purchase anything from there again and will be doing everything I can to inform the public they are a scam.

We ordered a recliner from the store in Massillon, Ohio we waited two months and it never came in I cancelled the order. My husband wanted the recliner bad, plus it went with the other two pieces of furniture. I went back in a week later and purchased it again but was told that it would be in about two to four weeks. They received a shipment but since I cancelled, I was moved to the bottom of the list. Called and talked to someone in the Corporate office, they found me a recliner the next day went to pick it up but it is was the wrong color. The manager, Londos Johnsonnis, apologized for the mixup, gave me a discount on my recliner and had it delivered at no cost to me. I have never had any problems with any of their furniture. The only problem I have ever had is when I ordered something no in stock. Would I shop at the Massillon store again, the answer is yes (as long as the merchandise is in stock). The hubby loves his recliner. Thanks Londos for being a man of your word.

in april i bought a sofa was told would 2 weeks before it would be in on may 20th was told supplier was drooped because of failing to supply to american freight' asked for refund was told 7-14 days here it is june 21st. no check was told check would be here in mail 06-22-2011 will wait and see if not will call my lawyer

I purchased $2k worth of living room furniture at the Knoxville, Tn location April 28,2011 and today is June 2, 2011. After the lies every week of the delivery of the furniture that never showed up I asked for my money back and now they say oh it will be 10 to 14 days and now the 14 days have come and gone and no furniture or my money. I asked for the corp office phone number and they gave me a random phone number of 740-833-6006 which of course goes to a voice mail> Don't ever buy furniture at these stores. They will only lie to you and steal your money.

about a year and a half ago I purchased a love seat and couch from American Freight, which is literally falling apart. The "bones" of the frame have come through the arms so it feels like sitting on a wooden board and the seats have sunken below the seat line. My husband and I called American Freight to ask is there anything they could do and they said no it was just the brand of furniture. About a month later American Freight posted a sale in our local newspaper for a couch and love seat made by Simmons (which we have always had good experiences with in the past) so we purchased a set on approximately April 12 paying almost the balance in full up front. Its now May 11 and still no furniture, so I called my local store to request that they cancel my order and refund my money the manager then informed me that I could only get store credit, because my order was more than 10 days old. I then asked the district manager for a cash refund or credit to my debit card and he told me that anything over ten days only gets store credit. When I asked why I wasn't advised of this rule when I ordered the furniture the district manager said "Its printed on the receipt" when I advised the district manager that I was visually impaired and could not necessarily read the receipt he said "Well did you ask the sales person?". I replied "No I wouldn't know to ask that, so no." the district manager then said "No refunds after ten days no exceptions.". I feel like the victim of a very elaborate scam. Say you have furniture for sale but it not in stock, order it but don't tell the customer that they have only ten days to cancel the order or they won't get their money back,then when they call to complain about the four to six week wait to get the furniture try to talk them into a lesser quality set you do have in stock. I have no money, I have no furniture, and I have no faith I am going to be able to resolve this with American Freight. I will never ever purchase anything there again and I wouldn't recommend them to any of my friends either.

Im very upset because i purchased a dinette set from american freight in Penn Hill located in Pittsburgh Pa. and when i took it out the box it had nicks, holes, scratches all over the dang thing , so i put back in my van and returned to store now im dont want the table and they will not return my cash,totally wrong. I returned within ten days and they have my 800.00 and some odd cents cash money and said they cant give me my money back, if anyone could help please give me a call at 412 773-9234.

My hubby and I ordered our furniture everything came in great condition, a week before they called me to switch my mattress because the one we ordered they stopped making apparently. Now when it was delivered the guys said on my receipt there was a refund amount for 120.96.... so I have been waiting since August for this refund. Every time I call its the same crap.... and I dont know if calling the corp. office is going to help any....we spend almost 4 grand on furniture from them and they cant give me back my refund for a damn mattress switch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
