I went to American Eagle today to exchange a pair of jeans bought for my son I just needed a smaller pair because I did not have the receipt yet the tags were still on the jeans they were a gift for my son the employee said oh well we do not sell these anymore so I can only give you the price of 15.00 (hmmm do not think I have ever seen a pair of jeans for 15.00 at AE)because they are on sale he said so I went to the rack to find another pair of jeans in a smaller size the service was poor from the girl on the floor.. When I returned to the register the guy said oh my manger said since we are having a 40% off sale I can only give you 8.00 towards your exchange??? I asked to speak to the manger and he was using the register next to him he just smurked giggled like a little girl at the fact that I was upset never said a word to me knowing I was getting upset he decided to just stand there and listen.. both of them thought it was funny as other shoppers were waiting and listening they also were getting angery at the employees attitude towards me. This is AE in the Brea Ca. Mall.. If you are looking for service do not shop here they are rude and have no clue about customer service.. To make things even worse I was with friends from Canada and since I can not drive due to having Eye cancer my friends were floored about the way this was handle by the manger and his employee... Something for AE to teach there employees is service you never know who you are dealing with!!!!

I recently shopped at American Eagle - one week from Christmas. I asked for a gift box and the snippy clerk said they just ran out ten minutes ago. Christmas season comes every year and you cannot determine that everyone needs to warp their gifts? This happend to me at Hollister's two years ago and I have never been back to the store for this reason. Looks like I will be adding American Eagle to "never shop there again" to my list............plan on telling everyone I know.

I WENT TO AE CHRISTMAS SHOPPING FOR MY 2 TEENAGE BOYS AT THE UTICA, NY, SANGERTOWN MALL STORE. THEY REALLY LIKE AE JEANS. I WAS VERY EXCITED TO SEE THAT ALL JEANS WERE 40% OFF. I PURCHASED 4 PAIRS. COULDN'T OF BEEN HAPPIER. I RECEIVED GOOD SERVICE AND COURTEOUS SMILES. THANK YOU FOR THAT. I AM HOWEVER BAFFLED HOW LONG IT TOOK ME TO FIND THE WEBSITE TO GIVE YOU MY FEEDBACK TO RECEIVE 15% OFF MY NEXT PURCHASE AT AE. I AM EVEN MORE BAFFLED AT HOW MANY COMPLAINTS THAT I READ FROM OTHER CUSTOMERS. I HOPE THAT I CONTINUE TO RECEIVE THE SAME COURTEOUS SERVICE AS I HAVE IN THE PAST. PLEASE PROCESS MY 15% COUPON ASAP, AS THERE WERE A FEW SHIRTS AND SWEATSHIRTS I WOULD LIKE TO BUY MY BOYS FOR CHRISTMAS... THANK YOU

I ALSO WENT SHOPPING AT THE AE STORE IN SANGERTOWN MALL IN UTICA, NY. I WAS CHRISTMAS SHOPPING WITH MY WIFE. SHE SHOWED ME A JACKET THAT SHE LIKED, SO AFTER SHE LEFT THE STORE I SNOKE BACK IN AND BOUGHT IT FOR HER. THE STAFF ON THE FLOOR WERE VERY HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY. I REALLY APPRECIATED IT CUZ I HATE SHOPPING. PLEASE SEND ME MY 15% OFF FEEDBACK DISCOUNT COUPON SO THAT SHE CAN GO BACK TO AE AND PICK SOMETHING ELSE OUT FOR HERSELF. THANK YOU AND MERRY CHRISTMAS...

my daughter just called me very upset because the general manager at her store asked her if she "was wearing their jeans"? my daughter said no that should could not afford them and the general manager stated "then maybe you shouldn't go to the cookie store". my daughter stated that wearing their product was not a condition of employment their. BUT, the kicker was a manager than Chris, who has given her problems in the past, told her "then she shouldn't eat so much". HOW DARE HIM SAY THIS TO A FEMALE COLLEGE STUDENT. On Saturday the 10th, he yelled at her for not picking up the pace when it took her 2 minutes to check a customer out instead of one minute. even though the customer was completeing an credit application. What happen to GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I understand that my daughter is not prefect but if the management is having a problem with her, isn't the best thing to do is call her into the office and speak with her. POOR MANAGEMENT SKILLS. NO, I WILL NOT REVEAL HER NAME OR CITY DUE TO RETALIATION.

I shopped there and on my receipt it gave me a website to visit and give feedback of my shopping experience in order to receive a 15% discount on my next purchase. However, there is no such website ANYWHERE on the internet. Is this false advertisement in order to persuade customers to make purchases at your store? I would appreciate honesty from any company I spend my hard earned money on. What can you do to rectify this?

On our first visit 12/10/11 at the Orlando prime Outlet my Sun Trust check (Florida bank) was rejected by the Telecheck service they use. The account had a high four figures of balance. They did not know how to contact Telecheck. I used a credit card. Telecheck really does not want to approve a check since they are the guarantee firm for the check. If AEO wants to accept checks, dump Telecheck. How much business has AEO lost by using this method?

I will never shop at this corporation again. I have had issues with the return policy before but today takes the cake. I bought the jeans at 40% off and kept the receipt. Was I told when I bought these if they didnt fit you could not get a different pair for the same dollar amount. What type of store are you???? I'm really going to give a Christmas gift to a relative that cannot wear the jeans and goes back to the store to exchange them and have to pay the difference with the recipt in hand!!! Again what type of business is this. I am so frustrated at this time, not only will I not shop again, I will also being turning your company over the the better business bureau, and give you a very good crappy comment on facebook as well. Customers are very hard to come by now of days, so keeping them would be a concern of mine. Never again in any....and I say any American Eagle store.

Stopped by AEO in Gadsden, AL mall on Thursday to shop for Christmas presents for relatives. They had a great sale on sweatshirts for 19.99. They looked great and felt so soft (like lived in). I purchased (4) and was ready to buy more. Got to check out and instead of ringing up $80 + tax, it rang up over $100. When I questioned the clerk she said I had picked up different sweatshirts. These were all on the same table and all marked 19.99, but 2 rang up for $29.99. I stopped the purchase, got a refund and went back to the table and and picked up two more shirts like the other two. Now, if I had not been paying attention, I would have paid for $20 more for nothing but deceptive advertising. They should not put higher price merchandise in with the advertised sale merchandise and not mark it. I was looking forward to shopping there again, but because of these practices, I will take my business elsewhere.

Iv spent over $100 using my AE rewards card and when I got online and typed in the code and my name to get my rewards in the mail, it said it can not be verified. To make a new one... I don't want to start from the beginning again!

On my store receit there was an internet website to go to for a survey but when I put in www.ae.com/tellus there was no site that I could fine. You are suppost to get a 15% off to use at AE or ae.com.

I love aerie. I buy all my bras from there. But, because of that, I've purchased about eight bras while always using my rewards card. And the aerie website still says I've only purchased four. The website will not let me add in my receipts, always saying that it cannot access my rewards information. This wouldn't matter if you didn't offer a free bra, but since you do it is very upsetting.

I was very disappointed in the American Eagle store at Oak Park Mall in Overland Park, Kansas. On Black Friday, the store was to be open at midnight. My daughter and myself along with probably about seventy five others waited for the store to open. We all were watching our clocks. We could see all the employees in the store standing around and talking. They seemed to be getting instructions on where to stand. At 12:05 the store was still not open. Finally at around 12:15 they finally opened the doors. This is really irrating when most people had a list of places they were trying to go and had a plan taking into consideration the times that the different stores were to open. The employees did not seem to care and were by no means trying to speed up the opening. Most seemed to chuckle when they would look at all of us on the other side of the door. I hope that this does not happen again or you will have lost a valued customer for good. Thank you, Joyce Alvano Joycealvano610@aol.com

I am currently an employee of American Eagle and i love it where I work. I have great employee's that I work with and my supervisors and managers are fair. I love the benefits that AE provides for its employee's and the fun work place. But I have one request for AE Corprate, durring the Spring and Summer work months is it possible to find a way to provide more hours for us employee's? Anyways again i love where I work and plan on excelling at my job in every way I can=)

First off I'm confused by Ned MacInnis's post. Is he talking about American Eagle or Hollister?? My expereince has been totally positive at AE. As a long time shopper there I have found a different times there are issues with staff but notice that those staff members don't stay long. There are staff currently at AE right now that are really great and have super customer service. Every store has its issues and unless you identify it to the store manager first - there is no point complaining about it here. Just saying.

I wish to complain about your practice of recording credit card numbers on your computer systems. To my surprise, this is not a practice that you disclose to your customers. I only realized it was happening when I was asked for my card back so that he could generate a receipt from the register (aside from the credit card terminal receipt). I had to ask if he was recording the number. Fortunately for him, he answered truthfully. I refrained from calling the Police. I then retained my card before he could finish recording the number. Had it not been that I was buying a garment for my niece who was present, I would have stopped the transaction immediately. I am of the opinion that Hollister has NO need for the number; irrespective of what your argument may be. Further, you are in no way entitled to it; this assertion confirmed by Visa. Your practice has left a bitter taste in my mouth. I shall never shop at your stores again as a result.

probably the worse experience i have ever had trying to buy 100 long sleeve v neck ladies shirts 90 % poly 5 % spandex might as well spend the day in an isolation booth. no help whatsoever how do you people stay in business is beyond my comprehension i have to try elsewhere

I went to American Eagle today at The Avenues in Marietta. They had a sign outside the store stating $10 off all jeans. I went into the store and heard from the sales associates, "all of our jeans are $10 off!" Sounded great, so I tried on several pair of jeans and found two I liked. The price listed was $29.50, so naturally I thought they were going to be $19.50, (great deal right) WRONG!!! After being rung up, the cashier said that will be $63.00! I said, you said they are $10 off. He said, that is $10 off. Really?? No, you didnt say they are MARKED $10 off, EVERYONE SAID, "ALL JEANS ARE $10 OFF" I TOLD HIM THAT WAS VERY MISLEADING, AND THEY SHOULD SAY ALL OF OUR JEANS ARE "MARKED AT $10 OFF. NEEDLESS TO SAY I WILL NEVER SHOP AT AMERICAN EAGLE AGAIN, DUE TO THEIR VERY MISLEADING AND ABSOLUTE BACK HANDED WAY OF LYING TO THEIR CUSTOMERS!

As of today I wish I could give AE 0 stars as their online customer service certainly earned it. I have been an extremely loyal customer of this store, my husband, daughter and I only wore this brand for many years. On September 5, 2011 I placed an online order, paid with my AE credit card and received an email stating that my order would arrive between the 9-15th of September. As of today (15th) I had not received my order so I placed a call to customer service to track my order. Upon calling I was told that my order was not processed but they were not authorized to tell me why... WHAT!? I was then told that their researchers would contact me by email in 24-48 hours to let me know why and if they could continue with the processing of my order which has never been the case in my number of online purchases. As I attempted to ask why they were unable to tell me the reason as well as question why I hadn't received an email stating that my order had been placed on hold (I seem to receive every other email from them and even received my online bill today) Carrie the customer service rep continued to speak over me with the same phrase of "Ma'am". Becoming agitated with her rudeness I said "Don't ma'am me" where she made the comment "Have a good night" and hung up on me. I called customer service two additional times where I was told that there were no supervisors available and that I would have to call back in 5-10 minutes to see if one was available at that time. What kind of customer service is this? As someone who spent a significant amount of money in this store I am disappointed, no, infuriated with the treatment that I received. My family and I will not spend another penny in this store and will be taking our business to Hollister. I left a message on a corporate phone number and expect a return call though, if their anything like their online customer service representatives it's unlikely to happen.

I went to American Eagle when they were having a 40% off sale. That was nice, but a couple of days before I received a new visa Gold Card because I was such a valued customer. I received a 30% off coupon to go with that. It did not state that I couldn't combine it with any other offers on the back of the coupon. They told me I could not use it on top of the 40% because that would be like taking 70% off. I know a woman that works at J.C.Penney. She had a class on what coupons could be used and which ones could be combined. She said they should have honored the coupon because it did not state on the back that it couldn't be combined. The other ones I received from there previously did state that they could not be combined with any other coupons or offers. An unhappy customer
